Natasha Stark: Arrival

Chapter 12:

Tasha: I sat cross legged on my bed, tinkering on my laptop. I heard a knock at the door. Tony was down in his workshop. I jumped up and walked to the door. "Who is it JARVIS?" I asked.

"Director of SHIELD Nick Fury, Tasha," I said. I walked calmly to the door, then opened it.

"Hello," I said, seeing the tall man in an eye patch, "Um, my dad's downstairs, I'll go get him."

"Are you Natasha Stark-Pells?" Nick Fury asked.

"Uh," I said, "Yeah."

"I actually came to talk to you," Fury said.

"What?" I asked.

"You are the one who has an Iron Suit?" Fury asked.

"Yeah," I said slowly.

"SHIELD is very interest in that," Fury said, "Who made the suit?"

"Me," I said, "I made it about six months ago. Why?"

"Did you create the suit from scratch on your own?" Fury asked.

"I thought I heard someone at the door," Tony said, running up the stairs, "Fury, nice to see you again."

"Nice to see you too Tony," Fury said, "I came to talk to your daughter about her super suit."

"Why?" Tony asked.

"SHIELD wants to know how big of a priority to make her," Fury said.

"What's going on Fury," Tony said.

"SHELD believes taking on Iron Woman would be a good idea," Fury said.

"Iron Woman?" Tony asked, "Really?"

"It allows her to grow up with the name, since she is 16. Also 'Girl' could be controversial," Fury said.

"Last I checked she is a girl," Tony said, as confused as I was on the contrevorsey.

"Can we get passed the name argument and skip to filling in me since I'm a little lost on what we're talking about?" I asked.

"SHIELD is basically the Super Hero organization that keeps anyone who has any type of super power in line and throws them into battle when needed," Tony said.

"Hold on," I said, "You think I'm a SUPER HERO?" I asked Fury, suddenly excited.

"Yeah," he said, "If you made the suit, you have the exact same powers as your dad."

"And I still can't sleep at night, thanks to New York," Tony said, "Thank you for that."

"If your daughter has powers, we just want to get her on out data base," Fury said, "No battle is necessarily needed."

"Dang, should have signed up for that plan," Tony said.

"Tony, it's just how we work," Fury said.

"Sign me up," I said.

"Excuse me?" Tony asked.

"I said," I said slowly, "Sign me up. Its my suit, my life, and my decision."

"I like her," Fury said. Tony rolled his eyes. "Do you think you'd be willing to show me what you do?"

"Sure," I said, "Now?"

"Preferably," Fury said. I nodded. I pulled of my tee-shirt, then moved over to the middle of the room. Then I shrugged, rolled my shoulders, and the show began. My suit filled itself in. I smiled as I pressed the button behind my neck, making my mask come down.

"Okay, I've never even seen the whole suit yet," Tony said. He looked up and down, examining the suit, "That's nice."

"Thanks," I said. Then I ran backwards, onto the balcony and jumped off. I turned on my stuff for flight, and felt myself zoom upwards. I flew skyward, just barely able to see Fury as I did. "AVIS," I said.

"Yes?" AVIS said.

"Let's give them a little show," I said. I flew downwards, into the waves. Then I came straight back up. Finally I posed, all my weapons raised.

"You've waited a long time to do that haven't you?" Tony said. I pressed a button under my head to retract my helmet and pulled back my weaponry.

"No," I said, "I just like to show off."

"No I just like to show off," Tony mocked under his breath in a low volume voice. Then he turned to Fury. "Can I speak to her alone for a moment," Tony said. I landed on the balcony with Toy "I don't think you know what you're signing up for, Tasha," Tony said once Fury was out of ear shot, "Once you sign on to SHIELD, they will ask you to fight. And not just seemingly innocent 20 some year olds."

I rolled my eyes at his comment, "I know. I think its kind of my duty to sign up."

"What do you mean?" Tony asked.

"If I keep this to myself its greedy. If the world needs me, I want to fight," I said, "I know its dangerous, but I learned I hate being benched to sit on the sidelines and watch while our freaking planet is in danger."

"So your sure you want to do this?" Tony asked.

"Yes," I said.

"Okay," Tony said, "I just want you to know what you're signing up for."

I walked over to Fury. "I'm in," I said.

"I'll talk to Coulson about putting you on a team," Fury said.

"Uh, no," Tony said, "She's in the Avengers or she's out."

"You realize the Avengers is the highest team we've got Stark?" Fury said.

"Fine, don't put her in the Avengers. But I'm on the same team as her," Tony said.

"Well then, Natasha," Fury said, "Welcome to the Avengers Initiative."
