It's the beginning of the new school week and I show up to my English class a little later than usual. When I walked in, I saw Emily sitting there, drawing in her notebook. Taylor was sitting next to her, having her hand on Emily's back.
I walked up to them and smiled. "Hey." I said to them. Emily looked up to me and waved her hand.
"Hey." Taylor responded as she smiled back me. "Mind telling me what's going on?" She asked me. I knew she wanted to know what's going on with Emily.
I ignored her question and sat down in front of Emily. "You prepared?" I asked her.
When the question hit her ears, I could see her freeze in place. "Y-ya." She said as she kept drawing in her notebook. I looked at the picture she was drawing. It was a heart with her name and the name Tyler. I'm assuming that was his name.
"Doesn't he usually come to class a little late?" I asked her. At this point, I had a plan and wanted to get everything right.
"Ya. We have about 10 minutes before he comes in after the bell rings." Emily said as she kept drawing. I knew she would know about his entrance time. You start focusing on the craziest things while crushing on someone.
"Good. Then let's go to the bathroom before then. That's when it'll happen." I said to her while taking a glance at Taylor. She was clueless as to what was happening. "You can help, too." I told Taylor while turning slightly to face her.
Taylor had a confused, yet happy look on her face. "Sure, but I don't know what's going on." She responded as she turned her attention to Emily.
"All you have to do is make sure she goes along with the plan. This means that if she says she can't do it, you can tickle her." I said to her. I knew Emily wasn't in the mood to be tickled, but it's the only way I can think of in order to get her to go along with this. Either that, or this school has really gotten to me in the last week.
"Fine. When should we go?" Taylor asked as she looked at the clock. I looked at it, noticing that we only have a few minutes before class starts. I didn't expect that to happen so quickly.
"Now would work." I said as I took Emily's hand and headed for the hallway. Emily didn't put up any resistance, nor did she say anything. Taylor followed us into the hall before closing the door behind her. We looked at the hallway, seeing lockers line the walls. Wherever there were gaps in the hallways, a door to another classroom took its place. We didn't see any noticeable exits except for the two leading further into the hallway. "I'll take one sided you take the other." I said to Taylor.
"What about me?" Emily asked as she looked down the hallway. I could tell that she's really nervous right now.
"Go with Taylor. I'll send you a text when if see him." I said to them before heading down the left hallway. I heard Taylor and Emily head down the right hallway.
When I turned the corner, I began to wait. I knew we were a little early, and he would come a bit late anyway. I just hoped that the teachers wouldn't notice or yell at us.
I was suddenly taken out of my thoughts when I heard the bell ring and the announcements start. He had to be here soon. I knew he would have to be here soon.
I waited for what felt like an hour before I saw him. I'm surprised I spotted him quickly. His short, black, clean cut hair could be hard to spot in a crowd. His hazel eyes just kept looking straight ahead, as if he was looking through me.
I immediately texted Emily for them to come. I could hear them run towards us. However, as he heard them, he began to run towards the classroom.
He bumped into me and we both fell to the ground. It was like he never even seen me in the hall. "Sorry!" He said before standing up.
