I quickly got changed, grabbed my stuff, and walked towards the buses at the front of the school. I even made sure that Harley and Taylor didn't see me. I didn't want them to tickle me and cause me to be late.
When I got to the front of the school, I saw Emily walking towards a car. I immediately ran to her as fast as I could. "HEY!" I yelled to her. She turned around and smiled at me. I looked into the car, seeing a blonde haired woman in the driver's seat.
"Hey." She said back to us while opening the back door. Emily and I put our bags in the backseat before I got into the car and sat in the back. Emily sat in the front and closed the door beside her. I closed the door next to me just before her mother drove off.
"So, are you gonna introduce me to your new friend?" Her mother said as she drove us to her house.
"This is Ashley." Emily said as she pointed to me. I waved to her as she drove, not wanting to interrupt their conversation.
"Nice to meet you Ashley." She said as she kept driving. "Are you in any of Emily's classes?"
"Just one." I admitted while looking out the window.
"Well, that's interesting. Which one?" She asked.
"English." I answered while being distracted by a puppy that was walking on the sidewalk.
"Isn't that the subject your the worst at, Em?" Her mother teased.
"Mom!" I heard Emily yell.
"Oh, I forgot that it's math, right?" Her mother continued.
"MOM!" Emily yelled louder as she pulled into the driveway.
"Do you really live this close?" I asked.
"Ya, but I didn't want us to walk while carrying all that stuff." Emily explained as she got out of the car. I got our bags before getting out of the car. I gave Emily her bag while she closed the doors to the car.
"I'll be back in about an hour." Her mother said as she waved to us. She drove out of the driveway while we walked towards the house.
Emily unlocked the door and let us inside. "You can put your stuff right here." She said as she set her bag next to the door. I set my stuff next to hers. I noticed that the door immediately lead to a sitting area with a tv facing the entrance. There were three black couches set up in a square around, all facing the tv. Past it was a staircase leading up. Not only that, she has an open kitchen just past the staircase.
Once our stuff was off our hands, we both walked towards the tv in the middle of the room. "Mom! Are you home?!" We heard what sounded like a young boy yell upstairs. We looked at the stairs, seeing a young blonde haired boy at the tops of the stairs. He didn't run down or anything. Instead, he just stuck his tongue out at us. Emily stuck her tongue out back at him. Once they both finished with their little....whatever, the boy ran off.
"What do you wanna watch?" Emily said as she picked up the controller for the tv. I took off my boots and set them with our bags, exposing my white socks. Emily took her shoes and socks off, letting them stay with our stuff as well.
"I'm up for anything." I said as I laid on the floor, belly down. Emily laid next to me with the controller in her hand. She turned on the tv and set it to a random channel. I think it was reality tv or something like that.
"You want anything." Emily said as she set the controller on the floor. She stood up and walked towards the kitchen.
"A drink maybe." I said while watching the tv.
Emily opened the refrigerator and began to look around. "We have orange juice. Soda. Water. What would you like?" She asked.
I was about to answer her when I felt something tickling my feet. "Soda." I said while giggling. I didn't know who was tickling my feet, but it was light enough that I didn't mind.
