"Finn, what have you done?" Sami sighed the second he watched his daughter drop kick her older brother. Right away, he knew it was the works of the one Finn Balor. Finn has just gotten back from a small week break he took, before going on the road again. Sami, he didn't wrestle much anymore, a few feuds and matches here and there. He was the one who offered to be home with his kids, because wrestling wasn't everything anymore. And he didn't know how Kevin or his other friends had ever did it. Horrified, he watched as his son retaliated the drop kick by putting her into a headlock. "Okay, okay, if you're going to put your sister into a headlock, do it right."
He looked up innocently from his sister, moving his arms away, "How do I do it then?"
Sami got down next the two, as he moved his arms, showing him how to properly do the choke hold. "That's how you do it."
"Is this how you and Dad do it?"
Biting back his smile, Sami nodded, "Yes, this is how Dad and I do it."
"I wanna be like you some day Dad!" she grinned as she wrapped her arms around him. "I wanna be a good person."
"You already are honey," he smoothed back her hair.
He laughed as he watched his father and sister, "I don't know about you but I want to be like Dad! A total bada-"
"Don't you dare say it," Sami warned knowing that the wrestling he was watching totally was a bad influence. Screw Kevin and his old potty mouth back in PWG and Ring of Honor.
"Awesome," he said more quiet, in the recovery. "I want to be awesome like him."
"Hey guys, where's your brother?"
"Up in his room," she shrugged. "He's been real moody all day."
Nodding, Sami looked back at the house before standing up again. "Don't kill each other while I'm gone, be safe."
They both nodded eagerly as Sami set off to the house. Luke was sitting in his room, listening to angry music, as he scribbled around in a notebook. "What are you writing about?"
"God dad!" he breathed out as he jumped, slamming the notebook away. "You can't just barge in like this."
"Are you okay?" Sami pushed ignoring what Luke said. "Do you need to talk? Are you having issues at school? Is it relationship troubles? Is there a girl you like?"
Luke watched in horror as his father grilled him with multiple questions. "What? No. Dad just-just leave me alone. I don't want to talk about it."
Biting his lip, Sami nodded. "Alright. Well, I'm always here to talk, okay?"
With wide eyes, Luke urged his father to leave him alone, "Okay dad, you can go."
Sami watched him for a few more seconds before nodding, shutting the door and walking out.
---
Throughout the rest of the week, Sami noticed that Luke had be getting moodier, and moodier, Distancing himself, and sometimes not even coming down for dinner. Sami tried talking to him, but he would brush him off. If there was one thing Sami had learned in his life, it was to give people space. So that is what he did.
He had his hunches though on what is wrong.
It was something Sami had been expecting, ever since the day Finn and him decided to adopt, or even have kids in general. There was the inevitable "I'm adopted" thing. Then, there was the fact of what Finn and Sami do. The road was tough, and sure, Sami had decided to be the one to stay home practically full time, Finn had been the one who was stuck working a lot. Sami stilled wrestled and was put in various storylines, but now he just offered to be more on the creative team, offering his opinion and pitches of storylines, which let him be home often.
So he knew Finn had to talk to him, and make Luke stop avoiding what was going on.
-----
It was about a week later, and Finn was finally back for two days, and Sami knew it was time."I'm telling you Finn, you should go talk to him."
"He's a teenage boy Sami, he's just going through his "I hate the world" phase. I was there once."
"Yes well," Sami smoothed out Finns shirt as ruffled his hair. "Didn't it help knowing someone was there for you? Maybe he's just missing you.
Finn sighed, afraid he was hurting or upseting his son in anyway. "Go with me? Please," he grabbed ahold of the gingers hands.
"Fine," Sami complied. "But you're the one doing the talking."
The two made their voyage from the kitchen, up to their eldest sons room.
"Hey," Finn knocked onto the door as he pushed himself in. "H-how are you?"
Luke peaked up from his dyed black hair that covered most of his face, "What did I do to enjoy this lovely visit from you?"
Finn pushed himself in further, Sami holding his hand behind him. "I just wanted to talk to you Luke, how are you?"
Turning away, Luke faced the wall of the band poster, "Oh what? You care now?"
Sami was the first to sit onto the bed, dragging Finn with him. "I always care about you Luke."
"Then why aren't you here?" he whispered. "It's bad enough at school they bully me for having two Dad's, but their relentless on the fact of who my Dad's are."
"What do you mean?" Sami finally spoked as he pulled Luke in to rest onto his lap as he stroked his dyed hair. It was worse than he thought. Why hadn't Luke talked to him sooner?
"A lot of people think it's cool you guy's are wrestlers," he admitted. "But some people aren't. Some parents certainly aren't. Some people are upset about the fact that I'm not your son, not really. Or the fact that you're both foreigners, or you're a Muslim," he looked at Sami.
Finn and Sami shared a look before turning their full attention back to their son. "Hey," Finn took Luke's hand as he looked at him. "You are my son, and I love you so much. I'm sorry I can't always be here, but I do love you, and I wish I could be. God do I wish I could be."
Sami nodded along to what he was saying, "I love all of you kids, and fuck what anyone else has to say."
Raising his eyebrow, Finn looked at Sami for his choice of words, but Sami only shrugged it off. This calls for a time to swear. "You are my family, we are a family."
