7 months later

Adrien's POV 10:00 pm

Marinette and I have become closer. It's been 7 months. It's 10 o'clock and I was sound asleep. It was storming outside and I heard the thunder clash. I heard Mari whimper. "Mari, are you ok?" I asked her. I got up and walked over to her bed. "I've never seen a storm before and the thunder scared me." She said. I hugged her and she was shaking. "Thunder won't hurt you Mari. Promise." I said. "Can... can I sleep with you, please?" She asked. I didn't hesitate when I said, "Of course. C'mon." She nodded and we walked to my bed. We laid down and went to sleep. "If you get scared, don't hesitate to lay against me. Alright?" I said. She said, "Thank you, Adrien." "Not a problem, princess." I said.

Next morning Sunday

Marinette's POV

I woke up and noticed I was sleeping beside Adrien. "Morning Mari." Adrien said. He was on his back on his phone. "Morning." I said. "So, wanna go swimming today?" He asked. "That's a dumb question." I said. He chuckled. "I'll take that as a yes." He said. I got up and changed into a red and black spotted crop top, blue jean shorts, sandals, and my hair in a ponytail. Adrien got up and changed into a black tank top with a green paw print in the center, black shorts with green pockets, and white converse. "Ready?" He asked. I nodded and we walked out of our room only to get stopped by Adrien's dad. "Morning son. Who might you be in my house?" He asked. "Dad, this is Marinette. I texted you a few months saying that she'll be staying with us until she gets house. She's a friend of mine." Adrien said. He nodded and walked away. "Let's go before he comes back." Adrien said. I nodded and we left.

At the beach

We were at the beach and saw Nino and Alya. I've gotten close to them and we became best friends. "Mari!" Alya squealed and ran to me and hugged me. "Hey Alya." I giggled. "Hey dudette." Nino said. "Hi Nino." Alya and Nino know my secret just like Adrien. "Adrikins!" Great. Here comes Chloe Bourgeois. Little miss 'My Daddy Is Mayor So I'm Better Than You'. I met her over the week. In a few days, I'll have to be in the same school with her. "...hey Chloe..." Adrien said. "So, Daddy is letting me invite someone to my beach house tonight and I want you to go." She said. Adrien looked at me then back at Chloe. "Sorry Chloe. I have plans." "Ugh. Fine." With that, she left. I sat down in the sand beside Alya tanning and talking about school. Until Adrien came over to me, lifted me up, and took me to the dock. "Don't you dare, Adrien!" I squealed. "Watch me." He said with a smirk. "Adrien Agreste!" I screamed. With that, he threw me in. "Adrien!" I screamed. He just stood there laughing until I lifted myself up and pulled Adrien in with me. He came up to the surface and said, "Eh, I had it coming." We swam back to Nino and Alya. They helped us to put towels on without us being seen with our tails. We dried off and we had our legs. "I think we should head home." Adrien said. I nodded. "See ya guys tomorrow." I said. They waved goodby and we left.

At the mansion

We walked up to our room and just relaxed. I plopped on my bed and got on Instagram. Yes I did get a phone. Alya posted a picture of me and her and there were some comments. Ten were from Chloe, one from Nino, and one from Adrien.

Chloe_Bourgeois- Dang MariTrash loose some weight.
Chloe_Bourgeois- Drown yourself Marinette
Chloe_Bourgeois- Alya, why are you friends with her?
Chloe_Bourgeois- Adrien should love me instead of her
Chloe_Bourgeois- Marinette is a pig.
Chloe_Bourgeois- Die in a hole Marinette
Chloe_Bourgeois- I call you (Marinette) a cry baby because after these comments she'll cry.
Chloe_Bourgeois- Stop wearing crop tops. You're too fat Marinette.
Chloe_Bourgeois- Ugly fat pig (Marinette)
Adrien_Agreste- Beautiful as ever Mari.
Nino_Lahiffe- Alya, you pretty.

Still Marinette's POV

I couldn't believe Chloe. I started to cry. Adrien heard me and walked over to me. "Mari?" He hugged me and I cried into his chest. "...what did I ever do her?..." I cried. "Mari, show me what happened." Adrien said. I nodded and showed him the comments. "I've had enough of Chloe." He said and got up to get his phone. "Adrien... what are you doing?" I sniffled. "Calling Chloe. She hurt you and I'm fed up with it." He said. He put the conversation on speaker. "Hi Adrik..." Chloe got interrupted by Adrien. "Don't Adrikins me. Stop hurting Marinette. She is my best friend and I care a lot about her. I'm not gonna tell you again. You better not do anything to her when we go to school. or I'll tell your father." "But Adrien, she's been so mean to me for the past few months. She stole you away from me." She cried. "She never did anything to you. I've never left her side. Quit lying or you'll go to freaking hell." He raised his voice. He walked over to my bed and wrapped his arm my shoulder to comfort me. I put my head on his chest and listened to the conversation. "Fine. I'll leave her alone. But I'm telling you. She did hurt me." She said. "How?" Adrien scoffed. "She took you away from me." She said, "We were never together and now this conversation is over." With that, Adrien hung up. "...thanks Adrien..." I said. "I'll do anything for you, Mari. I care a lot about you." He said. I giggled and we just laid there watching tv.

Next day at school

We met up with Alya and Nino at the front of the school. My first day of human school. "Hey Mari, Adrien." Alya said. "Sup' dude and dudette." Nino said. I waved and Adrien did a peace sign. We walked in class and Nino sat with Alya and I sat with Adrien.

At lunch

"Hey Adrien." Chloe came over and said sweetly. "Don't come over here all sweetly. Adrien told us what you did to Marinette and we are not happy about it." Alya said. Adrien put his arm around me again like he did last night. "But she deserves it." Chloe said. "No she doesn't. She is sweeter than you'll ever be." Nino said. "Fine. Listen here MariTrash. I'll make your life a living hell and you'd wish you were never born." Chloe said and left. I started to tear up and shake. Adrien felt I was shaking and hugged me. "I know what you need." Adrien said. I looked up at him and said, "...what..." "A good swim." I nodded. "We need to go to the principals office and get a note." He said. We got up and went to the principals. We got a note and went to the beach. We go to the dock and jumped in. It felt so good to be in that warm water. Adrien grabbed my hand and we swam together. We stopped to rest and I noticed that it was my old school. The dismissal bell rang and all the kids swam home. One little girl noticed me and swam over and hugged me. "Marinette. I've missed you." She said. "I missed you too Manon." I said. "Adrien, this is Manon. I use to babysit here when she was 5. Now she's 10 and all grown up." "Nice to meet you Manon." Adrien said. "Are you Mari's boyfriend?" She asked. Adrien and I both stiffened. "No. We're just friends." I said and Adrien nodded in agreement. "Ok. Bye Mari." She swam away. I waved. "C'mon. Let's swim some more." I said and Adrien nodded. He grabbed my hand again and we swam. I felt someone grab my tail and pull be back. I looked back and saw it was Cole. "Leave me alone, Cole." I said. "No. I want you." He said. Adrien grabbed me and pulled me from Cole's grasped. "We need to leave. He can't go on land." I said. Adrien nodded and we swam to the beach when no one can see us. "He won't leave me alone until he gets me. I don't want him. I want someone else." I said. I want Adrien. "I'll protect you, princess. Your knight and shining scales will be here for you." He said. I laughed at what he said. He starts to laugh too. "Thanks Adrien." I said. "No problem Princess." He said.

I love Adrien. But I doubt he loves me back.
