It was 4:00am on a Wednesday afternoon when young Betty Cooper came into her room sobbing from the prior argument with her mom about her friend Jughead's home situation. She needed to see him and no matter what her mother did to her, she would. This worried her mother because she knew she had a stubborn daughter that always helped people, even ones that would ruin her perfect reputation. Ah, yes the Coopers had a reputation to uphold and helping a lowlife such as Jughead Jones was a digrace to the Cooper way. She had raised her daughter to be a perfect little girl with perfect manners, perfect looks, perfect friends, and everything in between. She had no time in her life for a homeless rat like Jughead, but Betty thought otherwise. She believed that there was good in all people, even those that were unlucky enough to have a life as hard as Jughead's. She cares about him and will never stop for anyone.
Betty looked around her room, eyes still watering from the tears she was spilling out. She observed her neat, pink surroundings and slowly felt her nails dig into the palms of her hands because of her anxiety. She felt the blood spilling out of her hands as she started to tear apart the pictures in her room, pull the books out of her closet, and mess up the decorations on her desk. She was a mess. Just the thought of her mother was a trigger for her to continue this train of anger flowing through her body.
She went to continue her carnage but stopped when she heard a light tapping noise coming from her window. She spun around and noticed a concerned looking Jughead staring at her through her window.
"Betty? Are you okay?" he said to her taking in his surroundings as he stepped into the room. He noticed how everything was a mess, paintings torn, and ripped up paper everywhere. He also noticed the obvious blood on Betty's hands and the tears welling up in her eyes. "Yeah, I'm fine Jug. It's just my mom is a controlling lunatic and I can't help you! I'm so sorry Juggie I was trying bu-" he cut her off by hugging her. "Listen Betts, I'm thankful for your efforts and I'll try to see if Mr. Andrews is willing to let me stay there for a while." She smiled and continued hugging her grateful friend. The hug between the two lasted for a while and soon they pulled apart in an awkward tension.
They just stared at eachother both trying to comprehend their newfound feelings until they heard the footsteps of the one and only Alice Cooper approching the room. "Elizabeth? Is there anyone there with you?" she asked knocking on the door. Betty started to panic remembering that her room looked like it was just hit by a hurricane. She kept silent and tried to formulate a plan but ultimately failed. "I'm fine mom" she replied to her mother praying it was believable. "Okay, just come downstairs and take your medication." she said as the two heard her footsteps walk away. "Oh Juggie, what am I going to do with this room?" the blonde told the boy in her room. "It's all okay Betts. I bet we can fix this in no time." he exclaimed raising her spirits slightly.
After the pair finished cleaning Betty's room it looked perfect, just like Betty. She sighed as she tiredly flopped down on her bed, Jughead sitting next to her. She leaned her head on his shoulder and said, "My life is a mess Jug. I just want to be set free. I'm sick of been held captive in the perfect bubble Alice Cooper has trapped me in." He wrapped his arm around her as they sat there in comfortable silence. "Betty, I know that it might not seem like a lot but I could try to help you anyway I can." the raven haired boy replied. "Thank you Juggie, I don't deserve you." the blonde said shocked by the immediate disagreement from Jughead. "No Betty, It's me that doesn't deserve you. I'm a homeless loser that is the son of a failure. My life is a disater and I'm barely holding on to the little bit of sanity I have left." the boy replied. "Well I guess we never deserve what we get" she replied looking up at the familiar beanie she was cuddling with.
They both started to inch closer to eachother, and soon enough their lips interlocked. Match seemed to be lit in the pair. Once they pulled away they just stared at eachother admiring the others beauty. Jughead was thinking about how her smile could light up the entire world at night, how her hair was smoother than freshly made silk, and she smelled of strawberries without the help of any colone or shampoo. She was thinking about how his jet black hair made him look so mysterious but so handsome at the same time, how his dark blue eyes showed the slightest bit of light whenever he looked at her, and how his dimples that were evenly spread across his face were the most adorable thing she has ever seen.
They both knew something sparked that day, something new had started. Yet, both didn't understand this feeling since it was new to both. But one thing was for sure, they definitely did deserve each other more than they thought.
