After we got over the shock of going on tour with the guys and everyone except Ricky and Jessica had left, Amaya and I walked up to her room and chilled there for a while.
"So, what've you been up to? We never really talk about you." May questioned.
"Nothing much. Work. More work. Engaged. Broke up." I muttered the last two.
"WHAT?!?!?!???!?!" She screamed, causing Jessica and Ricky to come bursting through the door.
"Is everything alright?" Jessica asked Amaya.
"No! She got engaged!" She said pointing at me.
Ricky looked at me with wide eyes and Jessica grabbed my hand, checking for a ring.
"Then we broke up," I spit, jerking my hand back, "It's nothing."
"Nothing? You almost promised to spend your life with someone and now you don't even want to talk about it?" Ricky sat next to me and put his hand on my shoulder.
"Yes." I stood up and ran out of the house and down the street.
I walked around for a while until I was completely lost. I was walking through a random neighborhood and saw only one house still lit. I looked through widow from the sidewalk (such a creeper, I know) and I saw The Office playing. I looked at person watching at saw a familiar smile and teeth being lit up by the screen.
They sensed me staring at him and looked out the window. It was obvious the person was a guy. The second he saw me, he rushed to the door and ran out next to me.
"Katie, what are you doing out here? It's almost one AM on a 'drunk night'" Chris put quotations around the last part, "Come inside before you get raped or mugged."
We walked into his house and he locked the door behind us.
"What happened?" He asked, pulling me down onto the couch where he was sitting not ten minutes ago.
"Nothing. Had a bit of a fight with Ricky, Jessica, and Amaya." I said, studying the floor tiles like they were the most interesting things in the world.
"Christ. We were gone for two hours and everything went to hell over there?"
"It was my fault. I told them I got engaged." I said. Hey, might as well tell him myself before one the others do.
"Y-You were engaged?" He asked.
When his voiced hitched I looked up. Chris never stutters, no matter what the situation. His eyes darkened and he looked...sad? Was it really that big of a deal that I didn't tell them?
