I sigh. Ilva has been known to be dramatic.
I lean towards the confusing buttons and levers on the table, and frown. I count thirty buttons and five levers. Conscious of Ilva checking her watch I step towards the stairs back down to the battle grounds and notice the small symbols on each step. I walk down to step thirty five and then walk back up again. I check under the table of levers and buttons. Yes, there it is. Good thing I knew ancient Egyptian...
I pressed the button under the table, and the glass cage slowly wound itself back down into the mysterious table. Ilva takes the crystal and stared at it.
"How did you do that?" She inquires.
"I had an education", I reply, "Can we please get out of here?"
Ilva nods, her face still on the crystal.
As we quietly sneaked back out from the great castle, I wondered to myself about why I had done that for Ilva. I was pretty sure I didn't care about her. Mabye it was a soulmate bond thing.
We got to the second mile of trekking back before we heard the sirens, the blood stained screams of revenge, the hooves trampling on the ground.
Not even looking at Ilva, I began to run.
