I couldn't believe that this was happening.
Had I released James from prison only to hand him to an assassin who now by law could not let him go?

James looked at me, silently. He expected me to understand, and sympathise.
All I felt was anger.

It was a good thing Arbor was out right now or I would have stabbed him.

Didn't he know that keeping James here was practically the same as putting him back into slavery!?

At this point, James seemed to notice my weird behaviour and said quickly, "Please don't hurt Arbor. It's not his choice to keep me here."

"Oh, trust me James," I whispered, not trusting my voice, "I won't harm him."

Not altogether reassured, James picked up his paints and canvas and left the room.

Author's note: I'm sorry for this one being short.
Also, I was wondering if anyone was interested if I did a Q and A thing? You know, ask a question to a character and they'll answer them, that sort of thing.
Let me know if you'd be interested in the comments, and if so, what questions you would like to ask :)
