"No. They can't- they no," Avery mutters.
"Listen. I will try my best to be friends with you even though it is insanely hard for me. Please just try," Ethan says and walks away.

Tuesday
We walk up to the Dolan's house in silence. Avery looks like she's in so much pain. I knock on the door and within seconds Grayson opens the door.
"Hey!" I say.
"Hey! How are you guys?" He asks.
"I'm pretty good. It's been a while since I was here last," I laugh.
"Ethan and I are only here because of the company," Grayson whispers.
"I know. I know why you left," I whisper back and hug him.
"Supper!" Lisa calls. We all take a seat at the dining table.

"So... once again, we have decided to continue our business together. The Dolan and Pine company. You guys know the deal. Sean and I have talked, we want Ethan and Avery to get married in December," Lisa says.
"December? In three months?" I ask, jumping up.
"Yes," dad answers. He does not look pleased.
"We will be giving the company to you two in January," mom says.
Avery and Ethan say nothing, they just nod.

October
"Avery and I've made a deal. We're both going to act like a couple in front of everybody and alone. It might make it easier. Fake it until you make it, right?" Ethan asks.
"Yeah," I say. I really hope this plan works out...
