Chapter 7: Rematch In The Woods

The day of truth had arrived. It was May 23rd. And Leo was going with Cisco, to fight Killer Frost, and if they could, they would try to bring Caitlin back. Cisco would, anyway, since Leo didn't know a thing about Caitlin's normal persona. While Barry and the others headed to save Iris, Leo and Cisco went into the woods, and Leo told Cisco: "Barry told me that in the future he saw, you lost your hands while fighting Killer Frost. I'm gonna make sure that doesn't happen." Cisco nodded and smiled, saying "Thanks, man." They headed to the woods. When they got to the entrance of the woods, they split up. Leo went to confront Killer Frost head-on, while Cisco went another direction. Leo noticed it was snowing, and he eventually found Killer Frost, standing, waiting, but she wasn't looking towards him- she was looking away. Leo decided to break the ice. (I am so, so sorry.) "Well, well, well!" he said with his arms spreading out, "You set up all this snow just for me?" Killer Frost turned around and replied "Ooh, it's you again. I didn't expect to see you here, Inferno." "Leo." he said, and Killer Frost looked surprised, "The name's Leo Valdez." "Nice name." Killer Frost said, "Now, what do you say we get this going?" and she shot icicles at Leo. He held his hands out, set them ablaze, and the icicles melted from the heat of his burning hands. But while he had been defending himself against the icicles, Killer Frost had taken a few steps toward him. he noticed this, and backed up a little. Then, she pulled a trick he hadn't seen before- she used her powers to make a "spear" made of ice. "Huh?" Leo exclaimed. Killer Frost smiled and said "Oh, you weren't expecting this? Sorry about that." Leo knew how to counter the "spear" of ice, though. He reached into his tool belt pocket, and pulled out- a ballpoint hammer. "Really?!" Leo yelled in frustration, "I ask for a mallet and you give me a ballpoint hammer?!" He shoved the hammer back into his tool belt pocket, then politely mentally asked for a mallet. This time, he got what he asked for. He looked towards Killer Frost to see her laughing, and he set the mallet ablaze. Killer Frost heard the mallet setting on fire, and she stopped laughing. Leo said "I guess it's fire vs. ice, again." Killer Frost replied "You guessed right." and threw her icy "spear" at Leo. Leo barely avoided being skewered, and knocked away the "spear" with his blazing mallet. The "spear" melted. Leo wiped his forehead with his hand and said "Phew! That was close, any closer and I'd be history." "Not bad." said Killer Frost. She took another few steps towards Leo, who said "You can't run. If you try that ice-surfing-through-the-air trick again, you'll probably hit a tree." Killer Frost threw her head to one side a little and said "I know. That's why I don't plan on using that trick again." "So what'll you do?" Leo asked. Killer Frost answered by shooting more icicles at Leo. He swung his mallet and shattered them easily, stepping forward while swinging. Killer Frost stopped firing icicles, and Leo stopped holding his mallet in front of him. Suddenly, Killer Frost smiled and said "Careful." then blasted Leo with ice backwards into a tree. Leo hit his head and was looking down, then he slowly stood up, still looking down. He shook his head, shaking off his dizziness, and looked up- to see Killer Frost right in his face, using her arms to trap him in front of the tree. She smiled and said "Well, this is familiar." "Oh, no." Leo said, "Not again-" "Sssshhhh." Killer Frost held a finger to Leo's lips, then closed her eyes and began to lean towards him, tilting her head. Leo backed up his head as much as he could, but she was still coming closer and closer. Eventually he was stuck, and he was inwardly panicking- until Cisco shot a blast at Killer Frost, knocking her away. He went up to Leo and pulled him forward, asking "You OK, man?" Leo nodded, and then noticed something strange- a white blur coming closer and closer. He shouted "Hit the deck!" but Savitar had already knocked both of them down. "Why-" Cisco began, but then he seemed to realize something and said "Your future has changed, hasn't it?" Savitar began to walk toward them both, and Leo noticed that Savitar had the Speed Force Bazooka with him. Savitar stopped walking toward them and said "So have your futures."
