Josh's POV.

I wrapped my arm around Sophia's shoulders. She smiles and kisses my cheek.

"So, how's Rec?" I ask her. She's been guarding Rec ever since Officer Brown was stabbed by Finnic.

"It's been alright. I've had to keep some inmates awake though," she laughs.

"What?" I laugh, "which ones fell asleep?"

"Just one," she says, "Tyler, I think his name was," she shrugged and laughed again.

I tensed. Every time I hear his name I get tense. There is just something about him that's off.

She must've noticed me tense up.

"Hey," she says, pecking my lips, "You okay? You got tense," she said, concerned.

I force myself to relax.

"Nah. I'm okay," I smile.

"Kay," she says, "Joshy, tomorrow's our anniversary! Did you forget?" She crossed her arms over her chest.

Oh no, I forgot.

I sigh and rub my hands over my face. I promised her something special.

"Sophi-"

But before I could finish she rolled her eyes and left the break room.

I was walking down the hallways where the cells were and was stopped by someone calling my name.

"Joshua."

I turned around.

It was Tyler.

"Officer Dun to you, Joseph."

"Yeah. Whatever. Hey, can I ask you something?"

"Sure," I lean against his cell bars, "What is it?"

"Officer Riche, how old is she?"

Why is he asking about her?

"Twenty-five," I tell him, "why do you ask?"

"She's hot! Think I've got a shot with her?"

I laugh. Not because I think it's funny, but because I'm angry. This murderer has a thing for my girl? Like heck that's happening. Now I've really gotta watch this kid.

"She's mine, bro. Been my girl for two years now. She wouldn't leave me for a lunatic, like you. You've killed more people in a year then I've arrested in a year! You even do as much as touch, Sophia. I will kill you. Got that, Joseph?"

He nodded, "Fine."

I smack him in the chest with my baton, he screams.

"I mean it," I growl.
