The Hunger Games - Solitude.

Chapter 3

"Peeta, calm down. Everything is okay. I have never wanted you dead. Why would I? Why would anyone?" Gale says in a last ditch effort to calm down Peeta. 

"Why would anyone? Ha. What you said is obviously fake. Then again? What isn't? WHY WOULD ANYONE? ARE YOU THICK? WHAT ABOUT CATO'S FAMILY? AND FOXFACE'S? AND BRUTUS'S? AND MITCHELL'S? I AM A MURDERER! AND SO IS KATNISS! AND SO ARE YOU! WE ALL ARE!" Peeta screams at Gale. Gale obviously triggered him. That is when it all goes to hell if it hadn't already. Peeta pounces on Gale, like a fox on a rabbit. He starts clawing at Gale's face, causing blood to flow like scratching at a bottle of water. Gale is pinned on the ground, so I jump on Peeta, begging him to get off of Gale. He turns around and punches me in the face. I'm knocked to the ground while his knees are still pinning Gale to the ground.

"Why? Because you love him, not me?"

"No. Because he was just trying to help you. He did nothing wrong."

"Bullshit."

I scream for help, and Haymitch runs in. 

"Oh crap. Not again. Right in my drinky time." He grabs Peeta by the neck and pins him to the wall, his arms and legs kicking Haymitch. "Katniss press the button! You idiot! Why didn't you already?"

"Because it only alerts Gale and Dr. Aurelius. Where are they? Oh. Here. Already victims." I say sarcastically.

I run and grab the phone. I call the emergency line we have as a precaution for anyone or anything went... nuts. It contacts SEPA - Special Emergency Protocols Assistance. They are always equipped with weapons with rounds that have fast-acting tranquilizers. 

I run back in, only to see Haymitch and Peeta in a fight, grappling each other on the ground, both trying to find and maintain control over the other. I run and try to help Haymitch. Just as I get on the ground, SEPA enters the house. I scream "OVER HERE!". I hear 4 shots. I see one hit Haymitch. He is knocked cold. Then one hits me. In the one second it takes to take effect, I see the two hit Peeta.
