Gabe p.o.v
I woke up to the bed empty. I frowned and threw on a t-shirt that layed next to the bed. I walked through the house looking for her. I slid open the slide door and I saw her almost brown hair flying in the wind while she hugged her arms. I grabbed a hoodie by the door that I took off yesterday and walked over to where she was. I sat down with my legs on either side of her so that she was between my legs. I wrapped the hoodie around her shoulders and she leaned on me. Her back was pressed against my chest and I wrapped my arms around her, she sighed while closing her eyes. Maybe this was too early for her to be here with everything that's happened.
''You alright?''
''Yeah, I'm good. What about you?''
''I didn't wake up too you, but I think I'll live.'' She giggled.
''Let's get ready to go see my gran.'' She said standing up dusting the sand off.
''You know where you're not here half of me is gone and in order for me to find me I had to find you.'' She smiled at me. I grinned.
''Well you found me now you have too catch me.'' She said while running and she started to laughing. I chuckled and ran after her. She got into the house and went to her room. I caught up to her and wrapped my arm around her waist pulling her back and kissing her. She smiled and broke away. We got ready and drove to her Grans house. When we walked inside too see a guy who looked like he was 16 sitting on the couch.
''Katelyn, honey.'' Her gran pulled her in for a hug.
''Gran who is he?'' Kate whispered to her gran.
''Oh this is Mason the boy I wanted you to show around.'' He smiled at Kate and held his hand out. She took it and shook it.
''Nice too meet you.''
''You too Kate.'' He had dark hair almost black and pale like skin and tattoos the were on his arms and neck. He had a few piercings and he wore headphones around his neck.
''And who are you?'' He said turning to me.
''Gabe, her boyfriend.'' I held out my hand smirking at him and he shook it glaring at me.
''Kate, Gabe honey why don't you guys take Mason out.'' She smiled.
''Yeah sure well Come on Mason. Me and Gabe were talking about getting some ice cream so you can tag along.'' And with that she just turned around and walked away, I watched her hips sway and then realized I wasn't the only one. I looked at Mason who was checking my girl out.
''Watch it Mason, she's taken.'' I snapped at him and went to catch up with her. When we got too the ice cream parlor me and Kate ordered cookie dough ice cream cones. I didn't care what Mason ordered. We sat down at a booth and after a little bit Kate took her ice cream cone and dipped it onto my cheek. I went to wipe it off when her small hand stopped me.
''Stop.'' She looked over at Mason before coming close to me face. My breathing became uneven and my throat became dry. Why was she having such an effect like this on me? I was usually able to control myself. I was interrupted from my thoughts when I felt something warm slide across my cheek. She licked the ice cream off my cheek. Is it wrong that if there wasn't anybody here I would have taken her on the table? She pulled away smiling slightly.
''I see people in movies do it all the time.'' She said trying to be innocent.
''Yeah, they do it in a cute romantic way not a sexy seductive way.'' I said looking into her gray eyes. Her eyes held amusement watching me in my flustered way. I smirked at her the corner of my mouth pulled up. She looked down blushing and that just made me grin.
''Well this is awkward.'' Mason said interrupting our moment. I glared in his direction and Kate was blushing an even deeper red. She coughed awkwardly and then stood up smiling.
''Mason I am truly sorry for that.'' Blush still on evident on her face.
''It's cool, I am positive if you were my girlfriend I would want you to do that as well as many other things to me.'' That was it for me. It was like he was testing the waters too see how far he would go before pushing a nerve for me.
''Well she's not, she's mine so.'' I said sternly.
''We'll see about that.'' He said looking straight into my eyes. I growled and stood up and so did he. I was towering over him and we were chest to chest. Kate stepped between us pushing Mason away and moving her body against mine. Her butt came in contact with me and I gripped her waist pulling her close showing Mason this was mine. I smirked seeing his eyes watching my movements. His tattoos and piercings made him look bad, but he wasn't. Kate's soft voice broke the tension in the area.
''Look Mason, you see I am dating Gabe and I love him. And you're 16 and I'm turning 18 getting ready for college. That would just be wrong for us to date and you live here and I live on the other side of the country. You seem nice and everything, but I am happy with Gabe. I'm sorry Mason.'' She touched his arm gently and he broke eye contact with me and looked down at her.
''I hope you understand Mason.'' She said looking at him. They were the same height now that I payed attention. I liked our height difference me and Kate's. I smiled without even knowing and moved my arms from gripping her waist to wrapping them around her waist. I rested my head in the crook of her neck making her giggle.
''Yeah yeah whatever. Let's just go.'' He yanked his arm from her and started walking away. Kate swiftly turned around and glared at me and tugged my hair. I smirked at her.
''Don't be so jealous.''
''Well don't be so sexy and seductive and people won't want you as much as I do.''
''Oh so you want me?'' She smirked.
''Well now that you mention it.''
''How want?'' She whispered looking into my eyes.
''I think we both know the answer to that.'' I smirked. And she stood on her tip toes and whispered in my ear.
''Soon.'' And she stepped away turning around giggling and walking away. She caught up to Mason and they started talking about things I guess. I was angered at first, but then I felt bad for the guy. I mean not a lot of guys have the chance to get a girl like mine. Especially not my girl she's a one of kind. I watched her and the way she looked at him was like a little brother. She didn't look at him the way she looked at me. She looked at him like she did Jake. And that relaxed me a little to know that no matter how hard this guy tries Kate would never go for it. We took Mason home and after awhile me and Kate ended up laying under the stars on the beach. She layed next to me our fingers laced together. We talked about a lot of different things, but she brought up the biggest mistake I ever made.
