I watched the scenery pass by me. I smiled to myself thinking of how much life is like being inside of a car and watching it all pass by. My life has flew by it's amazing how much life has changed. I was brought out of my thoughts by  my gran smiling a small smile at me and saying something.

''Huh? What was that gran?"

''I said we are here honey.'' She looked out of the windshield. I looked up and my breath was hitched in my throat it looked just like it was 3 years ago. I looked at my gran.

''I remember when I used to pick you and Sam up and bring you guys here. We all used to stay here until you guys starting becoming teens and wanting to be alone more. Then I would drop you guys off and see you at dinner.'' She wiped a stray tear. ''Then you guys would race each other all the time to go pick the bedrooms, but eventually you guys just raced to race since it was the same rooms every time.'' I sniffled not even realizing I was crying. I opened the car door and got out waiting for gran. I guess my grandpa already got my bags. I walked side by side with my gran in silence. I still hear his deep laughter as he ran down the sandy beach. I breathed deeply my gran wrapped her arm around me and whispered.

''We will get through this Kate I promise.'' I nodded. We reached the front door and I let her in first. She walked in and I stood there on the porch looking dumbfounded. I saw my grandpa look at me weirdly.

''Come on the Katie.'' He looked at me unsure. I shook my head tears filled my eyes.

''I can't it's not the same.'' I sat down on the porch and put my head in my hands shaking it. I couldn't walk in there without Sam. He always went first struggling to beat me. I felt someone sit down next to me.

''Kate, you have to go in there sometime.'' I shook my head.

''Grandpa, it's so hard.''

''Sweetie it'll get better.''

''No, it's been 3 years and it's still just as hard as it was the day he died.'' it hurt to say that word.

''Come on maybe this summer will help. You and the young man of yours can create new memories and all. Not everything you remember about Samuel has to hurt Katie.'' I nodded slightly.

''You won't go and get Gabe until I go in there will you?''

''Would you like him here before we go in?'' I smiled and nodded.

''Can we go get him please?''

''I'll go get him you stay here with your grandmother.'' I frowned, but nodded. He told my gran where he was going and then he kissed the top of my head.

''Thanks grandpa.'' He smiled and walked away. I stayed on the porch watching the waves crash against the shore. The sun reflecting off the mixed blue waters. The clouds in the sky, and cool wind that blew my hair every now and then. Over all it was a beautiful day out. I pulled out my phone and took a picture of it and posted it on instagram.

I smiled a small smile when I heard a car engine pull up. I jumped up too see Gabe getting out of the car. His hair blowing in the wind once he saw me, he grinned. I laughed running to him and jumping wrapping my legs around his waist and kissed him short, but sweet. I smiled at him and he grinned.

''Hey, beautiful.'' I giggled and messed with his hair. He chuckled setting me down. I turned around to see my grandparents looking at us with a smile on their lips. I grabbed his hand after he grabbed his bags and he laced our fingers together. I smiled leading him to the porch and I slowed down. He frowned.
