Axel's POV
*5 years later*
I was having a meeting with Marisa about the recent hunter attacks they keep getting closer and closer to the pack house. But all that was on my mind was Evan's 5th birthday that's coming up next week. Raising him by myself was hard but I wasn't completely alone I had the pack but not even they can help me when he asked me about his father. Even though he's young he's not stupid he knows how werewolves work and he knows that he had a father not a mother. That's the thing with wolf pups there so smart it's hard to keep up with them.
"DADDY, DADDY" Evan yelled with excitement as he busted into my office. He climbed onto my leg and looked at me with his big brown eyes.
I jumped and nearly had a heart attack but when I noticed it was him my look softened. I had Evan when I was 18 now at 23 nothing has change I still look the same as I did 5 years ago. "What, What" I said with just as much excitement with a kid like Evan you're never bored.
"There's a man at the door with bunch of tattoos" he said while swinging his stuff animal around.
Dread filled my stomach "And you just opened the door? Where's everyone else" I questioned heck I didn't even hear the door bell ring.
"They not there" he shrugged "So I opened it" I stood up and put Evan down.
"Marisa watch him I going to see who it is" I prayed silently that it wasn't a hunter. A part of me wished it was James but I gave up on him 5 years ago when he got married.
I shook my head and made my way down the hall I don't have my office upstairs like some Alpha's do. I wouldn't want to have a meeting and make everyone climb the stairs what kind of monster would. I froze when I smelled a heavenly scent 'No it can't be a second chance mate I'm not ready' I thought to myself. I slowly finished my walk down the hall and turned the corner to see a man with his back to me.
I didn't make any noise as I silently checked him out to see if he was dangerous. He was wearing a muscle tank top -even though it's November and fucking cold out- that exposed his heavily tattooed arms and back. He was muscular but not too muscular and he was defiantly taller than me. 'Yeah, I can take him in a fight' I thought dully while completing my walk to the door.
I cleared my throat to capture his attention "Can I help you" I asked.
He turned around "Axel" he smiled.
My eyes widened "James" I smiled back but I was internally screaming.
"Wow, you haven't changed a bit" he commented "That's a good thing" he rushed.
I laughed "I wish I could say the same about you" I pointed to his arms "Tattoo's that's nice" I complemented.
He glanced down "Who's Eva" his eyes narrowed slightly.
I looked down and saw my v-neck shirt exposing my tattoo of Evan's name. I pulled my shirt to the side "It's Evan actually" I corrected exposing the tattoo that's just underneath my collarbone fully.
"Who's that" something flashed in his eyes but as soon as it came it was gone.
"That's my son" I said he looked at me with no emotion on my face. I remembered to what Stacy said a few years ago.
