chapter 5

britney's pov

i walk out of the shower and dry myself off

i slip on xavier's t-shirt and the shorts and panties katie brought me

i walk out of the shower and see my perfect mate laying in bed

i snuggle up beside him and slowly feel myself fading out and falling asleep

"run. run britney! don't stop until you're home" my brother yells at me as i take off running

i look back and see roughes tackling him and chasing me

i shift into my wolf and sprint faster than ever

suddenly, everything changes and i am in a dark room

a light comes on far away from me as i start to walk over to it

as i get closer i see a person on the ground

i run up to the mystery person and see my brothers dead body with cuts and a broken neck

i scream out and grab his lifeless body and slide it in my lap

"please wake up. please" i cry as he doesn't move

i scream again as i realize he really is dead

all of a sudden roughes run into the room

one steps out and grands me by the shoulders

"britney wake up!" he yells in my face

i look at him puzzled before i slowly fade away from them

"britney. wake up!" xavier says laying beside me

i shoot open my eyes and sit up quickly before moving away from him

i notice i'm in a completely different room and get more and more scared

"baby it's okay. you're safe now" he says reaching his hand out

i feel tears gather in my eyes before i move beside him and cry into his shoulder

he pulls me into his lap and wraps his arms around me

xavier's pov

suddenly, i'm woken up by screams coming from another room

i soon recognized them as britney's as i sprint out of my room into hers

i see she's having a nightmare so i get beside her and wake her up.

when she finally wakes up, she sits up and moves away from me

"baby it's okay. you're safe now" i say reaching my hand out

she realizes who i am before finally moving back beside me

she buries her face in my shoulder and starts sobbing as i pull her into my lap and wrap my arms around her

"shhh baby girl. i got you. you're okay now" i say rubbing her back

she finally looks up at me with tears rolling down her cheeks

i take my hands and wipe them off and smiling at her

"baby you know it's only 1 in the morning" i say

she groans and hugs me

"come to my room. you can sleep on my bed and i'll take the floor" i say kissing her cheek

she nods her head as i pick her up and carry her back across the hall

i lay her on the bed and turn to get on the floor when she grabs my hand
