Chapter 25-Epilouge

One year later

Lexie's POV

I woke up to the unfamiliar feeling of a cold bed. Reaching my hands across the silk sheet I shivered as my warm arm met the cool air. I heard a door slam and I quickly looked up. Mark was emerging from the bedroom door in nothing but a towel. His hair was still wet and he gave me a big smile.

"Morning Lex!" He said kissing me before getting dressed.

"Do we have to go in?" I asked smiling as Mark chuckled at me.

"You just had two weeks off! You are finally an resident!" He said pulling the blankets off my body and kissing my head.

A smile lit up my face as I though of that. I quickly jumped out of bed rushing to get ready.

Alex's POV

"Alex Kraev get your lazy ass out of bed!" I smirked and continued to feign sleep, as I felt Addison's hand pulling the blankets off me and onto the ground.

"Hey what did you do that for?" I fake whined Addison started giggling as I pouted grabbing my arm and pulling me out of bed. I smirked and pulled my arms around her waist turning her to face me.

"Why hello there beautiful." I said looking into her gorgeous eyes.

Addison's eyes flickered towards my lips before she pulled me in for a kiss. I pushed her back on the bed and smirked internally when she let out a small moan.

"Evil spawn stop having sex and tell your girlfriend her coffee is ready!" Christina Yangs voice broke my perfect haze and I opened the door giving her the middle finger before starting to get dressed.

Christina's POV

I walked away laughing as Alex gave me the finger. I walked downstairs and grabbed a box of cereal saying hi to Mark before making my way back upstairs kicking Mer's door.

I walked into my room and flopped on my bed accidentally landing on something hard.

"Ow!" A male voice cried. I was flung off the bed and landed with a very ladylike

"F*ck you"

Owen's head appeared from under the blanket and he started laughing as he took in my appearance. My frizzy hair was now covered in cereal and I was sitting on the ground still semi stunned.

"Cheerios really don't suit you." He said as he helped me to my feet and began pulling the cereal from my hair. I laughed at him and turned to kiss him lightly before heading into the bathroom.

Meredith's POV

I was having a dream. A really good dream. I was preforming a lung, liver transplant and I was almost done. Then I woke up. Well more like I was forced awake.

First the comfy blankets were pulled off my, then someone started to tickle me and finally I was lifted up and placed on my feet. Which of course resulted in my falling over.

"Derek!" I protested, but it was muffled due to my head being squished against the carpet.

He laughed and I stood up brushing myself off before heading into the shower. Sticking my tongue out at him like the really mature adult I am.

I undressed and stood in front of the mirror, looking at the faint scars on my body. They were only noticeable if you were looking for them. Still I didn't wear anything that went above my knees or showed off my back.

I stepped in the shower sighing as the warm water relaxed my muscles and eased out the tension in my body.

After drying off and putting in my leave in lavender conditioner, I went downstairs to see everybody else there. By everybody else I meant Mark and Lexie, Christina and Owen, Alex and Addison, Arizona and Callie and Derek.

"Hey." I said and was automatically met with some hellos and hi's. I ate a quick breakfast frowning when I couldn't find the box of Cheerios. Then we went to our selective cars and headed towards the hospital.

Callie's POV

I headed into my car, Arizona slid into the seat beside me. I smiled at her before starting the car and pulling out of the driveway.

I chuckled as Arizona let out a big yawn.

"Long night?" I asked winking at her before moving my hand to the centre console smiling as she clasped her smaller hand in mine.

As I pulled up to the hospital we both jumped out, beside Mark and Lexie who were carpooling with Alex and Addison. Christina and Owen jumped out of the back of Mer and Derek's car, and together we all headed into the hospital.

Meredith's POV

This time as I walked into the hospital no memories hit me like a wall.

"Bye love, I'm headed to a surgery." Derek said kissing me.

"Bye!" I said before heading to my own OR sliding on the rubber gloves. I inhaled the sent of bleach and anesthesia.

As I stood at the table I let go of everything that had been holding me down. The memories were fading. Not gone, I didn't know if they would ever be gone. But it was getting better, I was getting better.

I carefully reviewed the procedure in my head, vertical cut, find the bleed, cross stitch, close. I opened my eyes and was completely focused on the task at hand.

"Scalpel please."
