I could hear people talking in angry voices. I could just make out a few words...

"Leave"

"Need Help!"

"Meredith!"

"Climb"

"Operate!"

Slowly everything started to snap into focus. There was a pounding in my head and my entire body hurt. I felt like screaming in agony but I couldn't open my mouth. I was just so tired...

"Meredith?" My lashes fluttered open and I saw Derek. Except he was sideways. Everyone was. When Derek crouched down beside me I realized I was lying on the ground. I still couldn't feel my legs and somehow that hurt more than if I could feel them.

"Mer we are going to get out of here okay." Derek whispered into my ear as he softly ran his fingers through his hair.

I looked past Derek to see Mark, Addison, Callie, Lexie, Miranda and Richard looking at me. They looked sad and guilty. Lexie had tears in her eyes. I wanted to tell them I was fine. But I couldn't get my voice to work.

As Derek stood up I whimpered. It seemed like the only sound I could make.

Derek looked at me for a second before slowly sliding his hands under my limp body and pulling me up. My head fell back and my arms hung downward. Someone, probably Lexie, let out a chocked sob.

As everyone continued to argue their voice melded into one and my eye lids fluttered shut.

----------------------------------------------
Lexie's POV

I tried so hard not to cry as Derek lifted my sister up. She was too weak to even lift her head up and blood dropped down on of her hands.

I tried to stop myself from crying but it was too much. I let out a small sob before burying myself in Mark's tee shirt as my shoulders shook. He slowly rubbed small circles on my back as I tried to compose myself. I took one last sniffle before wiping my eyes and letting go of Marks shirt.

Meredith had fallen asleep and I watched her chest rise and fall slowly and in uneven patterns as everyone else continued to argue about if we could make it over the pile of rubble. When she stopped breathing for twenty seconds before her chest slowly rise again I realized something. We needed to get out of here. Now.

"Guys." I looked around. Nobody had heard me.

"Guys!" Mark looked at me before yelling at everyone else.

"Listen to Lexie!"

"We need to get out of here. Now. Meredith won't... she... she won't survive much longer."

Everyone looked to the small blonde cradled in Derek's arms.

"Lexie's right." Owen's voice came from behind me where he was sitting next to a shell-shocked Christina. "We need to get out of here as soon as possible."
