Derek's POV
"So, as you know we are currently still searching for a reason as to why you can't feel your left leg. You have some feeling in the toes on your right foot correct?"
Meredith nodded wincing afterwards. Her body was so hurt she was having trouble moving anything.
"Mer I'll answer for you okay?" I asked. She squeezed my hand in response, the only thing she could really do without too much pain.
"Okay so Dr. Grey, your right knee was completely shattered, so you are going to have a surgery to put in a knee replacement. Your left leg was snapped in three different places, so we are hoping that is the reason why you can't feel it."
"Hoping?" I cut him off. "I thought you said you knew!"
"Yes well.."
I was about to start fighting with the doctor when a squeeze on my hand stopped me. Meredith gave me a "don't you dare look." and I sighed, looking at the doctor.
"Please continue."
"Anyways." The doctor said speaking to Meredith again.
"Your right arm was cracked in half so you had surgery on that to put a metal rod in. You had an extremely deep cut on your back. It is being watched closely and you are on antibiotics for that cut and your many others. You also have a severe concussion, you are being monitored closely. The concussion has led to a light sensitivity. Hence no light in your room."I nodded looking over Meredith who's eyes were glazed over. She whimpered and started to shake.
"Meredith!" I said stroking her hair and kissing her head. As soon as she stopped shaking she buried her head in my chest and sobbed.
"And she has been diagnosed with severe PTSD. Including flashbacks and tremors in her arms and legs."
I continued to stroke Meredith's head as she cried flinching as the salty tears came in contact with the open cuts on her face.
"She also had three surgeries on her abdomen to repair bleeders." The Doctor continued to talk ignoring Meredith who was still sobbing.
I nodded sadly half listening to the doctor starting to go into detail about Meredith's cuts.
Arizona's POV
Callie was sitting beside me holding hand as I got my burns cleaned and re wrapped. Tears fell from my eyes and I struggled not to lose it. I knew Lexie had it worse, but it hurt so much. Luckily for me my burns were not as severe.
I cried out in pain as the burnt flesh was scraped back from my arm. The doctor sighed at my cry and continued to work.
I let out another whimper as I felt my skin peeled back.
"Oh would you shut up already! It's not my fault you look like a piece of toast!" I gasped at him in shock and shame. I heard a shark intact of breath and watched as Callie slowly stood up.
"What the hëll did you just call my girlfriend?" Callie said her hands clenched into fists as her body started shaking with anger.
"I said." The young doctor said smirking at me. "It's not my fault you look like a fücking piece of toast."
I barely had a minute to process the words before Callie punched the doctor so hard he flew backwards onto the ground.
"I never want you to look at me or my girlfriend again! I am going to sue your ass you frïcken snotty, arrogant, selfish ass hole!"
Nurses quickly ran into the room and pulled Callie back, while helping the doctor up.
"What happened!" Miranda Bailey ran into the room a few scratches all she taken had from the fire.
"He said I looked like... a piece of toast." I quickly said looking down ashamed.
I heard another thump and a small squeal of pain. I looked up to see Miranda supporting a busted knuckle and a smirk, while the other doctor doctor had another black eye.
As I watched Callie and Miranda explaining the situation to the chief of Seattle Pres I realized something. I really felt like I belonged here. Almost like the family I never had.
Sorry for the short chapter 😑 I won't be able to update for a while, but I promise regular updates after that! Anyways I hope you enjoyed and please comment me ideas!
