or it's me
with my thoughts that
replay every sentence over and over
it was always my fault.
a step back
in the wrong direction
i scream, wanting more
and wanting nothing
you made your choice.
you smiled bright
surrounded by what matters
which was all you
family comes first
and here i stand.
i shouldn't expect more than
a smile hiding regrets
and an apology you never should've given
and fleeing feet
wishing to rewind time.
perhaps
before it's too late, i'll know
you didn't mean it.
