i dream in dust storms
on a rampage through
my head whirls, hoping
to greet you
say hello once in awhile.
i believe in pineapple juice
fresh from knife slices
to share with you
pour a glass that
you're worth.
i hum in triads
tonic and dominant, me
but you are absent
to avoid dissonance
whatever it takes.
i drown in cotton
shirts that cling to
my hips invite
a dance to join
even if you are just.
perhaps
when i am, but
a smile in a flooding sea.
