“Meloetta’s daughter?”
“Must be. She has the eyes and your family has only ever had males, correct?”
“Yes… Will she be safe, though?”
“Mr. Rose. You are a Sapphire kingdom soldier, are,you not? I am sure that you can protect this child from anyone who wishes to take her.”
“Of course we will create a place of safety for her. A town of soldiers sworn to the throne of Sapphire.”
“Deddy….” I awoke in on horseback tied up and having my bandanna over my mouth to limit my speech. The same guard that took me the prior night was in front of me.
“You awake, miss May?” The horse stopped. He hopped off and took off the bandanna. “I’m so sorry. I had to or my family would be taken by king Ghetsis.” My eyes started to tear up at his words.
“My daddy was taken away from me twelve years ago. He made a village of soldiers so I could be safe. He sacrificed himself for my mother, brother and I. I miss him…” The man said nothing. “Who is your family?”
“A woman named leaf. I love her very much. The love of my life.” By how he spoke of her, I knew that he spoke only of loving words. “King Ghetsis threatened to kill her and our child.”
“A baby?!”
“Yes. My wife is pregnant, but being held prisoner until I return you to him. I wish that I didn’t have to. But before leaving, I had another guard, a Sapphire guard, send the letter to prince Andrew.” Sorrow befell him. “I read it. You love him.” Surprised by his bluntness, I looked down. “We will be at the castle of Harmonia soon. I will help you all I can once we get there.”
The ride was silent. I stayed silent as the Harmonian soldier rode on. Breaking the silence I asked for a name. “I know your wife’s, but not yours. What is your name?”
“Gary. Gary Oak.” Smiling at the man I thank him as we enter the castle gates. “This is the place…”
Looking at all the hurt maids, soldiers and other servants it scared me. “This place is horrid…”
“It is, but please do not say that in front of our king or crown prince.” Nodding I shut my mouth. Large castle gates open and Nathaniel comes out with the king of Harmonia.
Gary helped off the horse to greet the prince and king. “A pleasure to meet you, miss Rose.” The king addressed me and signaled for a soldier to untie me.
After being untied, I responded. “Likewise, king Ghetsis.” Bowing to the king, he stopped and looked at my attire.
“My, my…. Did someone steal you out of bed? I am kidding, child.” Calling over one of the maids he told th to grab me some better clothes.
“P-please, come t-this way…” After following the girl to a dressing room she gave me a selection of outfits to try.
“Thus is far too much…..” The blonde haired girl looked to me as she knew what I was asking.
“L-Lillie. I am Lillie.”
Smiling at her, I see that her arms and legs are bruised, but not her face. “Lillie. I have a question. Why do have no bruises on your face like everyone else?”
Hesitantly, she spoke. “K-king Ghetsis says that my face is to be treasured. S-so it w-would be a waste to hurt it....” Seeing Lillie with so much distress in her eyes, I wanted to help her. She needed help.
