When A Servant Remembers

Chapter Eight

"So, is it a boy or girl, mommy?"

"A boy, May."

"I get to boss around a boy!"

"You are a big sister. Making him your servant would trap him. Would you like being trapped by another?"

"No, mommy."

"Then what will you do to him?"

"I want to help him stay away from the castle and become Dawn and my friend!"

"Good. Now, try help those who need it. Right?"

"Right!"

Waking up three weeks after my plan to free Gary, Leaf and their child from king Ghetsis and N, I have been having dreams about conversations I had with my mother, talking about helping others.

"King Ghetsis is away this evening, planning prince N and your wedding." Lillie said as she came into my room, holding a long puffy dress that the king likes me wearing.

"Thank you very much, Lillie." Getting out of bed, I took the dress out of her hands and started to change.

"King Ghetsis says that the wedding will commence in four days." She looked at me will sorrowful eyes.

After putting on the puffy red dress, I walked over to Lillie and pulled her into a hug. "You don't have to feel sorry. I would rather help Gary and Leaf leave this horrid kingdom before the baby is born. Even if it means I have to marry N." Smiling, Lillie walked over to my bed to tidy it up.

"King Ghetsis, also, said that you can invite some friends from the Sapphire kingdom for your wedding, but only a few and they can not be there for any other reason than to be at the wedding." Thinking about what I was going to do so that Gary and Leaf could be free and get away from Harmonia, my wedding was a perfect time. "I have a plan, but I need to say it to Gary and Leaf."

"I'll inform Gary after your breakfast with prince N." I followed Lillie to the dining hall for breakfast. Sitting down, N was across the table from me, eating silently.

"Do you truly love me, or was it your father's idea?" N was surprised by my sudden question. "It just occured to me that I really have no idea who you are." At this silence I kept asking more mnd more questions about my fiancee.

"Fine! I think of you just as a pawn to my father's plan of conquest. You are just another pretty face that father needs alive. We needed this. To take your family when you got away. To infiltrate Sapphire by acting as the child of King Cilan and a guard of the most protected village in your kingdom. So, I see you as only a thing. You mean nothing to me. Telling you this won't make you leave. After all, your family is here." I don't change expressions.

"I knew it all along. I was never going to leave. You need me alive because I am Meloetta's daughter, and I am to be a princess of Harmonia after I marry you. All of this war will stop, even if I have to die myself. My family is one thing that keeps me here, but I also have another thing that I will not leave to the hands of you and King Ghetsis."

"You silly girl, we need you as a sacrifice. Your death will come and I will do such on our wedding day. It is to happen. You will die in four days. So shall your family, you will be the last Rose."

"You do not scare me. I will do all I can to save these torchered people you call citizens. I have been a maid, a servant to Sapphire. This is much worse than being ignored and forgotten. Stared and yelled at. Being beaten for no reason, hurting someone who is to serve only you, gives respect and is loyal. Even those who disobey, say one thing, do not deserve such torture."

"People only respect what they fear."

"Or who they admire. If such a world like the one you live in exists, I will put an end to it. I will stop all this senseless torturing. This unneeded hurt and pain. It will end today. You need nothing like a throne. Only someone who is kind and loving will rule. You are not fit to lead these people. They have done nothing but cower. I have and able to lead ell you should leave."

I left the room as N yelled at me to come back. "The plan starts tonight." I said to lillie as she walked up to me.

"What do you mean, May?!"

"Get Gary and Meet me at Leaf's cell." Nodding, we went our separate ways. Before heading down the stairs I grabbed a pen and paper.

Dear Drew,

I am being married to prince N of Harmonia or Nathaniel as we knew him in four days. I bring bad news. This marriage is a for me to die as I am Meloetta's daughter. I will have to die and the Rose family line will cease to exist, if I am married though, the family I marry into will be greeted by Meloetta herself. They will have one wish, and king Ghetsis is sure to ask for the world. A world of his own creation. If I do die, as well as my family, life will be ruled by N and king Ghetsis. We need to stop them from torturing this world and making their own. I will not be able to talk to you, as I am going to direct the escape, but I wish to tell you a story of a trapped girl. A girl soon forgotten after being saved. She started to remember at the age of 18. She was a girl who spoke with passion, Love and lust for the memory of a happier time. She met the prince of the castle she worked at as a maid. He was arrogant and made her want to yell and scream at him. She envied how he had a family and how he didn't have to think about other people judging them and staring as they walked around that he had freedom he didn't. After he saved her, the girl started to understand the prince more as a person and became to like him. After she denied these feeling she sent the prince away, running from what she was afraid of. The girl loved him. She wished that he would return the feeling, but after more things happened. She knew that the prince and her could not be together. So the girl died, knowing that it would be the only salvation to her tragic love story. I love you Drew. My friend has made me realize that, and he will tell you where to go from here. Bring who you need I will free these people at the cost of my life.
