Chapter 16: His Legacy Lives On...

A few weeks later...

Alright, so many things have happened. 1 being that I discovered my father's kekki genki. Easy right? Nope. It's really creepy and I don't want to use it. Shikamaru was on a mission with a few others along with Asuma sensi. I was sitting in Lady Tsunade's office. "Alright, do you feel different," she asked me. "I don't know. I just feel I shouldn't use it again. Ever." "That's the smart choice, for all I know." I nod. "And also... Orochimaru died." The noise rang my ears. "Huh?" "He died. Sasuke killed him, claiming his powers." I nod. That didn't distrought me that much. "Davi, this means people will start coming after you. You need to be heavly guarded," she finished. "When have I ever needed someone to protect me? I can fend for myself. I'll die for my friends before letting them die." I stood up and walk out. "Davi!" I walk onto the dirt path. People chatting amugst themselves. Children playing around. This is what it's like when your bored. "Davi," A voice yelled. I look up. I see Sakura running twords me. I stop in my tracks. She soon reached me. "You need to come quickly, Shikamaru returned," she panted. I nod and follow her to where Shikamaru was. We soon arrive and Shikamaru had a sad look on his face. "Hey Shikamaru, what's wrong," I ask. He looked at me. He closed his eyes and opened them. Someone came over. "Asuma died," he said. I froze. Asuma-Sensi died. "Sorry," he finished. During the years, Asuma-Sensi, Shikamaru, and I have gotten close. I look at the ground. Tears streaming down my face. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I look up to see Sakura. I close my eyes and shook my head. I turn around and walked. This isn't my day. I continue to walk. My fists were cluched and the tears still streamed. Some hit the ground. I didn't know where I was going to go. I wipe the tears from my face. No more were coming. I decide to walk home. Nothing could bring me down. I open my door and walk inside. I put up my stuff. I grab my pj's and go to bed... even though it's the middle of the day. My eyes close letting the darkness consume me.

Shikamaru's POV

She walked away. My sad expression turned to a normal tone. Davi is hitting this pretty hard as I am. His funeral was tomorrow. I wouldn't go. It brings me pain to even go. I walk around the village. This gave me sort of a sad face. Davi must've went to bed, considering she's sad and all. I might as well go too.

The next day...

Davi's POV

I wake up to the rain pouring down. I get up from my bed and get dressed in black. I wasn't going to Asuma-Sensi's funeral. It brings me too much pain. I walk out of my apartment and head out into the pouring rain. The rain trickled down my face. I don't care if I'm sick. It doesn't matter. "Davi," a voice called. I look up. Naruto was running towards me. I shook my head and continue to walk. Naruto soon reached me. "Davi, have you seen Shikamaru?" "No. I haven't, but if you see him, tell him I said hi." "Alright." He walked away. This is the first time he wasn't looking at my chest. I guess it's really a bad day. I stopped walking. I just let the rain trickle down my face. I then continue to walk. I sigh.

A hour or 2 later...

The rain stopped. I was wet. I guess Asuma Sensi's funeral stopped. I stopped by his grave site. I pull out something from my pocket. It was a crystal rose. "I remember when we first met, I gave you this rose and it was perminate. I crumbled it into dust. Well, this one's here to stay. I know that these years were the best. You were like a father to me. You and the rest made me happy. You guys got me a family." I chuckle. "You'll always be in my heart, as I will be for you." I set the crystal rose down. I walk away. I sigh. This day just sucks. "Davi," someone shouted. I look to see Ino. She soon reaches me. "Yeah," I ask. "You and I are meeting Choji and Shikamaru, come on!" I nod and follow her. We soon arrive at the bridge. I see Choji. I sigh. I sit at the railing of the bridge. I listen to their conversation, but it soon stopped as footsteps came closer. I look up to see Shikamaru with a brown bag in his hand. "Hey Shikamaru, so why have you called us over here," Ino asked. "We're going to do something for Asuma-Sensi," He said with a smirk on his face. "Revenge," Choji said with a smart smile. "Yeah. We need to fifill Asuma sensi's mission." "Yeah," I say excitedly. "Meet me at the front gate tonight. And Davi, we need some at that jitsu." I was scared to do the jitsu, but I nod. This is for Asuma sensi. "See you guys until then." We walk in seperate ways. I walk home and get my stuff together. I wore my outfit. This is what we need. I need this for closer, to make sure his legacy lives on.

Nighttime...

I grab my things that I need (Weapons). I walk out of my apartment. I knew I was prepared for the jitsu. The jitsu was my father's jitsu. All the snake like abitities and jitsus that were in my blood. I only preformed one and that was the Kekki Genki. I was lucky. I walk to the front gates. There I see Ino and Choji. I walk over to them. "You made it," Ino said placing a hand on my shoulder. "I wouldn't miss it for anything," I said. "Okay, Don't be afraid to do anything, Davi. We can count on you with your jitsu," Choji said. "I know." "Alright, were all hear," A voice said behind us. We look to see Shikamaru. I smile. "We wouldn't miss it," I say. "Okay, I'll explain the plan when we get there," He said. He looked serious. That's the serious Shikamaru I know. "What do you think your doing," A voice yelled. We turn to see Lady Tsunade. "The mission is still in isn't it," Shikamaru asked. "Just face it. Asuma is gone and revenge isn't going to bring him back, you know that. And Davi, it's a bigger risk with you because of your power! You should stay here under guards," she yelled. "I live to fend for this village. I don't care if someone gets me or if someone kills me. I live to protect others. That's my way of ninja," I say confindently. "Yeah, and Asuma is still here," Shikamaru said taking out a lighter and turning it on. "As long as this lighter is still here, as long as it burns, he his still with us, watching us, making sure we're safe," he finished. She ws about to open her mouth until-. "They're going to go anyway so don't even try," A voice said. We look to see Kakashi-Sensi. "I'll go with them to make sure their safe. Trust me," he finished. "Fine, go. And make sure you all come back in one piece," she gave up. We nod and run into the forest.
