Chapter 10: This just keeps getting better and better

2 hours later...

I see a doctor come out. "Is anyone here for Davi Utumai?" I stood up and walk over. "Yeah," I ask, afraid what's going to happen. "She's going to be fine, however she maybe out for a week or 2. Somewhere in that area. Don't worry, she's going to be fine." "Thanks, what room?" As he told me the room, I nod. I go back to the others. "She's fine," I say relived. "Well I got to get home, Make sure she's well," Sakura said and left. Sasuke said he had to check on the others and so did Naruto. That left me alone. I go to Davi's room. She rested peacefully in the bed. I sigh. I sit next to her. I held her hand. She's going to be fine. Those words played back in my mind. She's going to be fine. That's all I can think. That's good news.

After a hour or 5...

I felt my eyes droop. I laid back in my chair. My eyes close as I drift off into a slumber.

Shikaku's POV

It's been 5 hours, where is he? Yoshino is yelling at me to go find him. I sigh and sit up. She nags a lot. I walk out. Where is Shikamaru? He better not be napping somewhere. I see Asuma and walk up to him. "Hey Asuma, have you seen Shikamaru," I ask. "The hospital." My eyes almost pop out of my head. WHAT THE HELL?!?! "Is he okay?!"

"Yeah he is, he's visiting Davi, she got hurt pretty bad at the Chuin exams." "Alright what number?" "256." "Alright, thanks." I walk away. That boy... he just cares, doesn't he? I soon arrive at the hospital and go to the room. I walk in to see Shikamaru sleeping in the chair. His hand was holding Davi's. He's been sleeping. Well no wonder he hasn't been home. I pick him up and place him over my shoulder. I walk out. As I walk home, I remember. Yoshino is going to yell at him. "Hey Shikamaru wake up," I say. He does nothing. I sigh. I twirl around. I hear a groan. "Yes," he asked. I set him on the ground. "Come on. You and I are going home." "Fine." No arguement? What's he pulling? We walk home. As soon as we walk in, there came the arguement. Let it began.

Shikamaru's POV

We walk in. My mom started to yell at me. "Where have you been youngman, you should've been home 4 hours ago," My mom yelled at me. I was about to open my mouth, but dad answered. "The hosptial. He was looking after someone for a friend. He just cares that's all." My mom sighed and walked away. "Hey dad?" "Yeah?" "I owe you one." I walk to my room and change into my pjs. I fall asleep on the soft surface.

A week later...

Davi's POV

I wake up to the sound of... a moniter? I THOUGHT I WAS DEAD?!?! I open my eyes and groan. I look around. It was dark outside. I still look around. My vision was kind of blurry. I had to make out things. I see a brown blob. I poke it. It groaned. "Dad, 5 more minutes," the voice said. SHIKAMARU! "Dad? Is that a way to treat a woman," I ask. I see the blob shot up. "Davi!" He hugged me tightly. "Hi to you too." He let go. "I missed you so much." "Really?" As soon as I said that Ino and Choji walked in. "Davi," they yelled in unison. The run and tackle me in a hug. "Thanks for caring, but I just woke up and you two squezzing me isn't making me feel better," I say. The let go. "We just missed you. Shikamaru never left your room unless his dad was here to get him," Ino said giving me a soft smile. I gave Shikamaru a simpathy look. His face turned red. "I-I care," he said. I chuckled. "Thank you. So anything happened?" Shikamaru gave me a sad look. "The 3rd Hokage died," he said quietly. My heart shattered. I lay back looking down. I close my eyes, remembering the times we had.

Flashback

3 year old me ran thru the gates. "Hey kid, stop." I didn't. I just continued to run. Soon I was picked up by the back of my shirt. The person lifted me off the ground and made me face him/her. The person was an old man. He wore kind of a triangle hat. "Excuse me, but why are you running thru my village," he asked me kindly. "I ran away! My parents never wanted me," I say in the cheery voice. It sounded also dull. "They never wanted you? Why?" "They think I'm a discrace since I don't look like either of them, with looks. I look like my older brother!" "Hmm, why don't you stay with me until we get ahold of your parents? What are their names?" "I only know my mommy's name, Kisha Utumai." "Alright."

A few days later...

I sat next to Gramps, who I now know is the Hokage. I was in his office. One of his guys, ninja are what they are called, came in. "Sir, we have located the child's parents. They are in the main hall," He said. "Alright, let's go Davi," Gramps said. We got up and I followed him. We soon arrive in the main hall, and I see mommy and daddy. We soon meet up with them. "Hello, are you two the parents of this child," Gramps asked. He stare at him, then at me. "Yes," mommy said. "Well, she ran in here saying that you two don't want her, is that true?" "Every single word, she doesn't look like us. She only looks like her brother and that doesn't even make since, since he's older than her." "Well, you should keep her. She is your responseablity." "Well, sorry. I can't have a daughter who doesn't have my looks or personality. She's dull, boring, and she just good with strategy. We will be on our way." They turn and walk away. I look at Gramps. He looked at me and shook his head. That was a dissapoinment. My heart shattered. "M-My parents really don't want me," I ask. He nodded. Tears formed in my eyes. I hug Gramps' leg and sob.

Flashback ended

I was caught out of my daze with someone snapping their fingers in front of my face. "Hm," I ask looking up. Ino looked at me. "What the hell were you thinking," she asked. "Thinking, that's all." "Well me and Choji got to go home, see you tomorrow." I nod as they left. I turn to Shikamaru to see if he was going to leave, but he just fell asleep. I sigh. I close my eyes as well, drifting off into a slumber.
