It was just after midnight in Shibuya, Japan. Under the moonlight, smack dab in the middle of the empty street, a girl stood, gazing up at the streetlights, her long blonde braid drifting through the wind... Blood-covered.
The red streaks painted the sidewalks... And the source wasn't lying very far away from her. Cleaver gripped in her hand until her knuckles were practically white, she made her way down the block, as far away from the body as she could get.
She hadn't wanted to fight, let alone kill...
But in order for peace to be achieved, there had to be casualties. Bad people had to die. Innocent people with bad intentions had to die.
Maybe even she needed to die soon.
As if the provoking thought sought out her desires, a red glow besieged the night sky. And it only seemed to grow closer...
"...What is that...?" She squinted her emerald eyes in attempts to get a closer look. "A meteor...?" And then it fell upon the land.
It was an average day in Orlando, Florida. Sunny, hot, humid, but at the same time... nice.
"You have got to be kidding me!" Emma yelled at her T.V. Emma's bright blue eyes have been glued to the T.V, wavy dirty blonde hung over her right shoulder. She was getting annoyed. It was the third time she had lost to that same boss. It wasn't helping that it was the final boss of a game she had been playing for three years.
Her little sister, Paige, said behind her, "You know, if you win, you might actually beat the game." Emma glared at her little sister but then smiled a bit. Paige was only thirteen, and like any teenager, she was texting. She had gray eyes with shorter brunette hair.
"You want to try?" Emma asked.
"Unlike you, I have a life. I have friends. I don't need to play whatever it is you're playing. I would suggest you get one."
Emma let out a sigh. "Who asked you?"
She smirked. "You did."
'Ugh, Paige is such a smartass.' She thought to herself. A seventeen-year-old with a thirteen-year-old was NOT a good mix. Even worse, she had to live with her... alone.
"You're so anti-social, Em, you have to get out there at some point in your life, these games are not going to be real, ever. Get a life."
Emma was about to say something when she heard a car outside honking the horn. "I think that's for you."
Paige moved a strain of hair out of her face, getting up to grab her bag. "It is. Bye." She said, not wanting to say anything else about it, walking out the door.
Emma sighed after the car had left. She loved her little sister, but she was such a brat sometimes. Maybe she was a little anti-social, but she wasn't always that way. She hated thinking about that and pushed it aside.
She heard something outside the back door. "What was that?" She walked through her kitchen and opened the door. A man stood there. Emma was in pure shock. "W-who are you?"
The man smirked as the ground opened beneath her and she fell through darkness.
The dull hum of the air-conditioner had gone mostly unnoticed by Sasha as she laid still on her worn couch, situated in the middle of her low class beaten up apartment, in an even lower-class section of the city she lived in. Sasha was a twenty-year-old girl that had lived on her own since she was fourteen years old. When she was first kicked from her home from her junkie parents who no longer had a use for her, she had lived in the southeast of America, moving from state to state to find a place called home. She mainly lived in a tent and had no money for food, so she had eventually taught herself how to hunt for her own food. She preferred harpooning fish with pointed sticks, but she had gotten good at a bow and arrow over the years.
