Taehyung gasped loudly and jolted out of bed, covers laid in a mess on the floor. He breathed heavily, vividly remembering the night his mom and brother left. He had never fully forgiven his dad for cheating on his mom, but he still maintained a close relationship with him. Even now, 12 years later, he still couldn't forget.
He groaned and picked up his covers, dragging himself back to bed. "Why is it so late?" he grumbled after looking at the clock displaying red block letters: 10:32. He got on his phone and checked his notifications. Not seeing anything important, he began getting ready for the day.
After he stepped out of the steamy shower, his phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Taehyung-ssi! I'm on my way to pick you up. You've got dress rehearsal at noon. It's almost 11:15, I'll be there soon," the voice said before hanging up.
Taehyung looked at his phone and sighed. "I wish manager would take a rest. He works too hard..."
Once he was ready, he heard a knock on the door.
"It's open!"
"Are you ready?" Manager was a short, stout man in his thirties, but his facial features definitely didn't show it. He entered and stopped suddenly, looking at him up and down.
"What's wrong?" Taehyung questioned.
He looked at me with solemn eyes. "Did you have that nightmare again...?"
"Yeah...how'd you know?"
"Your shorts are on backwards."
Sure enough, when he looked down, he saw that his manager was right. He quickly fixed his pants and followed him out the door down to his car.
"Why don't you ever take a break?" Tae asked.
"Because you're such a handful, always causing trouble for me," he chuckled. "I'm kidding. I just want to make sure you're alright. Plus, Bang PD would tan my hide if I ever skipped work for anything other than death." He smiled bitterly.
They soon arrived at the venue where Taehyung's concert for the next few days would occur.
He went inside and got the rundown of what would happen during the shows and everything went down without a hitch.
He smiled brightly at the staff, "Goma woyo! Thanks a lot for all of your help today, everyone."
Tae sighed when he slumped down into the seat of his manager's car. "Hey, can I go out with some friends tonight? I want to wind down and relax before such a big performance."
Taehyung, or V onstage, had debuted two years ago. He was already pretty popular, doing a world tour as a soloist. His most recent single, Stigma, had reached top ten on two different music charts with millions of copies sold. But it didn't mean he was happy.
He wanted someone to share his accomplishments with. Sure, his dad was always there but it wasn't the same.
"Uh, which friends?" his manager asked cautiously.
"Only Namjoon, Hobi, and Yoongi."
Manager's face lit up. "Oh, sure! Just don't get to bed too late, there's a photoshoot tomorrow, along with another rehearsal. I hate working you this hard, but the staff want the concert to go well. After all, we are in Seoul."
He looked down at his phone, texting his three best friends to meet him at his apartment. All of them agreed quickly and said that they could meet there at 6. Tae looked at the time, 5:26. He had more than enough time to clean up and prepare for their arrival.
Once he was home, he began to pick up. Before he could even grab the first empty bottle from the coffee table, his doorbell rang.
Taehyung answered it, face lighting up as he saw Hoseok, his childhood best friend. They'd known each other since they were in primary school. Hoseok was the only one out of the three friends who had known Jimin before he left.
Hoseok seemed just as excited, jumping into Tae's arms.
"Aaaaah! I missed you! It's been way too long!" Hoseok exclaimed.
"I know! What's it been? Three months?"
"You should let me move in with you! I'd be a lot closer to my best friends. I know you have the room, this apartment is HUGE."
Taehyung laughed. "Sure buddy."
Hoseok made himself comfortable on the couch as Taehyung kept cleaning up. They chatted and caught up with recent events in their lives. Apparently, Hobi had found himself a nice girl to crush on. Taehyung could tell that he really liked her by the way his eyes lit up when he talked about her.
"You know, this one time, we were both buying tea at the same shop. She has the same last name as me and when they called "Jung" we both stepped up. Our hands brushed as we both reached for the coffee cup but it turned out it was hers. I can't--"
He was interrupted by the doorbell ringing again. A super tall blonde stumbled in, followed by a shorter, even lighter blonde haired boy. "Hi Namjoon! Hi Yoongi! HOBI, the gang's all here!" Tae clapped and ran to the kitchen to get some drinks.
The night went on, filled with a lot of talking, laughter, and throwing snacks at each other, courtesy of Taehyung and Namjoon.
"So I was standing there, with my shirt ripped off at the sleeves. I was laughed at but I had no choice to keep moving. Aish, it was so embarrassing!" Namjoon spoke. The boys all laughed.
"Oh guys, I forgot to tell you!" Hobi spoke up, "Tae-Tae here agreed to let me move in!"
Taehyung's eyes widened. "I don't remember that!"
"Oh nonsense. You said I could when I first came in. You'd better stay true to your word." He laid down on top of Tae, who was spread lazily on the couch. "You wouldn't want me to get upset, now would you?"
Angry Hobi was a scary Hobi.
"N-no of c-course not," he laughed nervously.
"Then it's settled."
The rest of the night flew by, soon all four boys were saying goodbye in Taehyung's entrance. He was reluctant to let them leave.
"Yah...make sure you all come to see me often. I may be getting busy but I'm never too busy for friends."
They all promised they would before heading to each of their respective homes.
Taehyung sighed and pushed his back against the door once it was closed behind them. He wasn't as lonely as he thought.
He got ready for bed and as soon as his head hit the pillow, he was out.
