Jordan's POV
I clicked off my alarm as quickly and quietly as I could and rolled back over to face Bea. She hadn't shifted from the same position in my arms all night.
Damn, she looked so beautiful.
Her eyes flickered open and she looked up at me. I brushed some hair from her forehead and smiled.
"Happy six months," Bea croaked and I chuckled.
Yes, it was exactly six months today since myself and Bea had gotten together. Just half a year ago, she'd tracked me down at Stewart Downing's house, had entered the living room where all the lads had been hanging out at the time and declared her love for me.
Granted, I took a lot of stick from the guys over the next few weeks but after they'd met Bea a couple of times, all of them really started to like her.
"Happy six months to you too!" I kissed her forehead gently and she nestled into my chest.
"I can't believe you have to leave for pre-season today. It's gonna be so depressing without you..." I heard her say.
Today was the day that LFC went on their pre-season tour of Europe and the first time I'd be leaving Bea for a couple of weeks. I know she'd only be a phone call away but I couldn't help but suspect I was going to pine for her a little bit. We'd practically been inseparable over these past six months so it was going to be hard to leave her for a long period of time.
"I know. I'm gonna miss you," I sighed.
"You remember what we talked about though?" she looked at me seriously and I nodded.
We'd agreed I wasn't going to lose my concerntration so easily over her whilst playing football. That time against Aston Villa last season would be the last time I would let the thought of Bea rule my brain. Even if it took a lot of effort to; I had to focus on my football.
"Of course," I kissed the top of her head.
"Right, I'm gonna have to love you and leave you to get ready," Bea let go of me, patted my head and stretched.
"No, stay for an extra five minutes. Please?" I tried to grab her by the waist but she hopped out of bed in one swift movement.
"Jord, you know I can't. I don't want you to be late when Andy turns up to collect you in," Bea peered at the clock. "Half an hour. Plus, I have to go and say goodbye to Dylan and Aaron; I promised I would."
The boss had called up a few lads from the Youth team to come on this tour with the first team. Bea's brother Dylan, who was a winger, and his best friend Aaron, a goalkeeper, had been lucky enough to be picked by the boss. After all, they were pretty good.
"You'll look after them, won't you?" Bea asked as I came and sat on the edge of the bed.
"I promise. They'll be fine. Don't worry about them," I gave her a reassuring smiles and she pulled on her jacket.
"Will you be okay though?" she came and sat on my lap and I wrapped my arms around her.
"Yeah," I nodded, but Bea didn't look too convinced.
"I really worry about you, Jord. Promise me you'll keep okay,"
"I promise I will. You know I'm just going to miss you, that's all," I tried to give her a smile but my eyebrows ended up forming into a frown. I didn't think saying goodbye to her would be this hard...
"Look, babe. I got you something," Bea dragged her bag towards her, rummaged through it and pulled out a small, plump, chestnut coloured squirrel soft toy. "It will remind you of me when you're feeling down But it's also a reminder to keep focused on football too."
She placed it in my hand and I chuckled.
"You're so sweet," I kissed her on the lips and started trailing kisses down her neck until my head was buried under her chin.
"I love you," she got up off my lap and bent down to kiss my forehead. "Remember that."
Bea gave me a wave and an encouraging smile and walked towards my bedroom door.
"Bye, Bea. I love you,"
She blew me a kiss and exited the room. I heard the apartment door close softly behind her as I lay back on my bed.
I looked at the squirrel she'd given me and put it to my nose. The gentle smell of her made a billon thoughts run through my head all at once.
"My little squirrel," I whispered.
