the thing was , klaus wasn't usually the one to 'fall in love' with someone. well , not until Caroline, and nor did he see himself being a father. but it changed , after hope. when Caroline was with Tyler, and he had left mystic falls , he thought that the feelings for Caroline could never be repeated into someone else. he never thought you would be the reason he felt alive. He had wanted to spoil you , show you the world. but here he was the king of New Orleans vulnerable. and there you were , his best friend , kissing his brother.
Klaus saw red. klaus saw his world shatter. why Elijah ? out of him and all his siblings , it had to be Elijah.
grabbing a white oak stake , he wanted to plunge it into your chest , but it wasn't you who initiated the kiss, his own brother and his best friend. unacceptable. and of course no one could be happy until klaus was happy. opting for plunging the stake deep into his brothers chest , he grabbed your hand , and pulled you away. The tips of his ears red , and his face contorted into something monstrous , something you've seen a handful of times.
"Niklaus ! what the hell ?" you yelled. Your face almost mirrored his. he didn't say a word as he left his brother on the floor graying and desiccating. he just pulled you into his chest.
"I thought I was obvious in the way I felt." he growled , his eyes glowing the soft yellow hue.
you stood your ground, your heels digging into the floor. "Your like a beast ! one minute I can count on you the next your jealous !"
" I love you , niklaus !" He starred at you.
"then why did Elijah kiss you ?"
" it was a goodbye kiss , I told him I loved you that I didn't feel anything for him anymore. he wanted me happy."
klaus didn't believe it. the one other person who he had loved , actually loved him back. he was more shocked than he probably should've been. he kissed you , pulling you in close.
without an ounce of hesitation , you connected your lips to his. it was passionate and full of the feelings you didn't say. full of the love that wasn't easy to communicate. yes he was difficult to get along with often times , but that didn't make you scared of him. his stubbornness and need for blood was a challenge you'd both face. love was infinitely more powerful than his faults.
