you've known Damon all your life. you met in 1864 with Katherine Pierce. Ever since then you'd been best friends. but you couldn't deny you felt more for the vampire.

He had promised to never leave you behind , but he did. even after you saved his life from many near-death experiences , he still went on with elena.
he was different with her. was it an obsession with Katherine that brought him closer to Elena ? or was it that she had been with Stefan and for once he just wanted to be chosen ? Watching them be happy , was upsetting for you , not because you didn't want him to find someone to make him happy , but because you wanted to be the one to make him happy. You and him used to do dangerous and borderline crazy things. but now it's all about her.
" y/n , are you listening to thing I'm saying ?" Caroline asked , bringing you from your thoughts.

but Caroline shook her head not believing you. maybe you yourself had been obsessed with the older Salvatore , or maybe it was just you wanted a chance like he had ?
" Where's your mind at right now ?" Caroline asked , watching your facial expressions change with every thought you had.

you wanted to be like Caroline with Stefan , or Bonnie with Enzo. you wanted a chance for Damon to love you like he wanted from Elena.
The next few days , a party for some town function was happening. and you by request of Caroline , had to make an appearance. ad you got ready , a feeling of sadness washed over you , but once finished with the last of your outfit , you stepped into the party , and it felt like time stopped. eyes on you. like you had been the life of the party all along.
however you felt more like a party pooper than anything. you scanned the room , finding your friends in the corner. but stopped when you saw Elena and Damon , they looked amazing. sighing , you took a deep breath and stepped toward the table , throwing on the best smile.
