Your POV
"Move it freak" I said, pushing past the beanie clad boy in the hall with Cheryl by my side. Queen B. That's what I am. The popular one. It was up to me to keep that reputation going, I didn't have any other option. Despite what I may feel.

Walking out the door I said my goodbyes to Cheryl and left to go to Pop's for a milkshake, hoping I wouldn't have to meet anyone along the way.

I got about half way before I hear someone.

"(Y/n)! Hey wait up." I turned around to find Archie jogging up to me, I smiled. We had been friends for as long as I can remember, but being roped in with the queen B's meant we spent less time together.

"Hey Arch, where you going?" I asked him as we started walking together.

"I'm heading to Pop's to meet some friends, wanna come?" He asked. I had planned on saying no but I got on with Veronica and Betty, so I didn't see why not.

"Yeah sure I was just heading there anyway."

"Cool, let's go"

The rest of the walk was filled with small talk. Talk about how Archie was getting on with juggling music and football, how everyone was doing. As we entered Pop's he pointed to the table where his friends were sat, and my eyes immediately caught that of the boy Cheryl made sure got the hardest time of all - Jughead Jones.

I turned to Archie.

"I-I don't think it's best if I'm here. I'm just gon-"

"(Y/n), it's fine. Jughead's cool just, c'mon. Prove to him you're not the spawn of satan" I saw the look on Archie's face, that grin.

He must still remember from when we were kids, I'd had the biggest crush on Jughead, but we were only young so I  told Archie and he promised to never tell. He hadn't told. But he'd remembered.

Sighing, I walked over to the table taking a seat next to Betty while Archie sits next to Jughead.

"Hey guys, sorry to intrude." I said, smiling meekly.

"It's fine (y/n), you know you're always welcome with us." Betty said smiling, I knew that was her way of telling me if I wanted to quit Cheryl's Satan squad I could always join them. I just smiled in return.

I could see the look on Jughead's face, his stony silence and I looked down at the table. I missed our days, our talks. We'd been best friends at one point. It seemed like so long ago. Maybe that's what hurt most, thinking what it would be like if I'd never taken up Cheryl's offer of being co-captain of the River Vixens. But I can't just give it up now, she'd make my life a living hell. I know what she's capable of.

Looking up, it looks although Archie and Jughead are having some sort of whisper argument while Betty is chatting away to Veronica. I knew I shouldn't have joined them, it just brings up thoughts that make life more complicated. I stand up and walk away hearing Archie behind me.

"(Y/n) you do-"

"It's fine Arch, I've got stuff I need to do"

I stand outside Pop's. It's raining now, but I don't care. I let it hit me, it makes the tears rolling down my face less noticeable. I hear the door to Pop's open and thinking it's Archie I keep walking, before I hear the voice calling me.

(Y/n). Hey, wait. I'm sorry for being like that but you don't have to leave." I turn to face the boy who the voice belongs to. The boy who's got my heart. The boy I'm meant to hate. But I don't, not even a little bit.

He sees my face, although it's raining the tears running down my face are obvious.

"Are you okay (y/n)? Do you want me to get Archie you cou-"

"No. No don't get Archie. I'm just- I'm so sorry Jughead. I can't. I don't want to" I break then. I want to tell him. Tell him everything I feel. But I can't.

I look down at the ground and feel warmth as he wraps his arms around me.

"Shh, hey, (y/n) it's fine. It's not all your fault. We let you go. We should never have done that. We're all responsible for losing you."

We stand there for a while, his arms wrapped tightly around me as I decide whether to take the easy route or follow my heart...
