I clutched my phone close to my chest as I processed the news. My father had left. He'd taken his stuff. He'd gone without saying goodbye.
The bell for first period had only just went and my day was already the worst. I wanted to find Jughead. But I wasn't sure I was ready to talk about all the thoughts going through my head.
All I knew was that I didn't want to be in this school. I didn't want to be here. The corridors were empty as my fist made contact with my locker. Blood beginning to seep from my knuckles, I ran out the doors of the school not looking back.

Jughead's POV
I was starting to get worried about (y/n). It was nearly the end of first period, but she still hadn't showed up to our English class. I'd messaged her but no reply had came, and I couldn't stop myself glancing across to the empty seat where she should be sitting.I frequently looked up at the clock, praying for the class to finish. I didn't have any classes next, and neither did a few of the guys, so I'd finally be able to ask if anyone had heard from (y/n).
As soon as the bell went I darted out the door, bumping into people as I went. I headed straight outside to our table, a part of me hoping when I got there I'd see (y/n)'s face smiling at me.
When I got there I saw Archie, Betty and Veronica sitting, but (y/n) was no where to be seen. I knew I shouldn't be so worried, she could look after herself, but a part of me cared so deeply about her that the fact she hadn't returned any of my texts made me feel ill.
"Hey Jug, what's wrong you look sick?" Archie asked me, looking concerned at me.
"Have any of you seen (y/n) today?" I asked them, and in return I got a collection mumbled no's and shaking of heads.
"She walked to school with me this morning, I'd just guessed she was away to see you." Betty said, looking confused.
"I've not seen her all day, she never turned up to class and isn't returning any of my texts. I tried calling her house as well but no one answered." I told them, getting more worried about her by the second.
"You know her better than anyone Jug, do you have any idea where she'd go?" Archie asked me and I racked my brain, trying to think of where she would have gone if she was upset.
That's when it hit me.
"I know where she is." I said, getting up and leaving before anyone could say anything else.

Jughead's POV
I walked to the forest, towards the distinctively large tree, then cut off the path. Walking through the thick grass I went deeper into the forest, an area no one ever came - not even the scouts. A few minutes later I arrived at the area where three trees merged into one giant one and I climbed.I climbed until I reached a wooden platform at the top. It was a treehouse (y/n) and I had made when the drive-in closed, somewhere new we could go when we wanted to think, I can't believe I'd forgotten about it.
When I got inside I felt relief wash over me when I saw her sitting there, back to me and knees at her chest.

Your POV
I sat pulling my knees up to myself for comfort, cradling my hand with tears streaming down my face. I couldn't stop thinking about the fact my father had left, did I really mean that little to him?I was snapped out of my thoughts but movement behind me. When I turned around I saw Jughead standing, I couldn't read the mix of emotions on his face.
He didn't say anything, he simply came and sat next to me. We sat in silence for a few minutes before he finally spoke.
"I was worried about you today (y/n), you only come here when you're upset. What's happened?" He asked me, and he looked genuinely concerned.
"M-my dad. He's gone. He left. Didn't say anything just packed up and went. Did I really mean that little to him? What's wrong with me Juggie?" I choked back tears as I spoke to Jughead, but I couldn't stop them.
"Hey, hey (y/n/n), there's nothing wrong with you. You know your dad had issues, it's probably gonna be good for you that he's gone. It's not your fault (y/n), you're perfect to me." Jughead said, a light blush forming over his cheeks as he said it.
I felt my face heat up. It wasn't unusual for Jughead to compliment me, we'd been close for years, but I'd always had some sort of feeling for him and this time the compliment felt deeper.
I smiled at him lightly, placing my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around me resting his head on mine.
"Thanks for coming after me Juggie, I didn't think anyone would."
"I'll always come after you (y/n/n). Always."
I smiled as he lightly kissed my forehead as we sat together in a comfortable silence.
