Chapter 1- Waking up

Tris POV:

I wake up with a searing pain in my chest. I look down and see bloody bandages covering me from my neck to my thigh. I try to move my arms but a pain shoots through to my finger tips and I let my arm flop back down on to the bed.

I look at my surroundings. Well as best as I can without moving my head. I see what look like two hospital beds next to me. The one on my right contains a young women around 20 I would say. She is rather tall and has light pink skin. Her freckled cheek bones are very prominent on her face and nose is rather large and hooked but it fits her face well. She has dark brown hair that cascaded over her shoulders and deep set, green eyes. I suspect she was admitted due to the large gash stretching from the edge of her left eyebrow down to the dimple on her cheek.

I move my gaze to the bed on my left. There is short, stubby man with dark grey hair. He has a blanket pulled over him and a wet tea towel placed on his forehead. He looks to be asleep but he keeps muttering something under his breath. He probably has fever.

I lay there feeling quite sorry for myself when I see a nurse walk past.

"Excuse me" I say surprised that any sound came out at all.

"Oh hello dear. Glad to see you awake" she replies.

"Where am I, what's going on"

"Your in the Bureau of Genetic Welfare. You were shot several times in the stomach and chest" she says it as if it were obvious.

"Where is Tobias"

"Who's Tobias"

"My boyfriend. He has dark blue eyes and short brown hair"

"I'll be back in second"

She walks off and starts talking to a man in a blue pants and a white coat. The nurse shifts her weight from her left foot to her right revealing the doctors name tag. Dr. Xavier Bross.

The doctor checks his clipboard and then walks over to a computer at the entrance. He taps on the keyboard a few times and then walks back to the nurse. They exchange a few word and the she walks back.

"There is no record of a Tobias Eaton ever entering this building."

My heart skips a beat. Several. I black out.
