Amber's POV

Harry and I are currently shopping at our local Super Costco. He hasn't stopped moping but he seems to be in a little of a better mood within the last few days. I walk to grab a few snacks and such while Harry goes to pick out his certain food items.

Once I've filled my basket, I go to the toy aisle to get Allen's Captain America toy that I've promised to buy him. I have to give it to him as soon as possible.

"Harry?" I call, walking into the toy isle that he is standing in with a toy in hand and a few of his items.

"I uh." He motions towards the toy. "I thought he would like this one best." He says.

And I find it really cute that he has never even spoken to the kid but he can judge by the child's character what he likes best. For that I am grateful because I honestly wouldn't know which toy Allen would love most.

"Yeah?" I take the item from him, examining it and he puts his necessities into the basket. It's a rather cool action figure that isn't too much of an expense. "Nice choice." I giggle putting it into the basket.

"Thanks."

Harry pays for our products and we load the car, leaving the grocery store.

"We should take it to him today." Harry glances from the road to me.

"Allen .. The toy." He finishes when I look at him questionably.

"Yeah?" My plan was to take it to him on the weekend but I don't mind taking it to him today.

"Yeah." He says making a u-turn and heading in the opposite direction, towards the orphanage.

When I arrive at the door with the gift in hand, I knock and wait patiently for someone to answer. Harry said he would come with me but I insisted on going alone.

The women behind the door isn't Andrea. She is much younger with blonde hair, similar to mine.

"Hello, I'm Lauren. Do you have a appointment?" The lady asks, moving her body in front of the door.

"Hi. I'm Amber. And Yes. I'm here to see Allen." I lie, knowing that I don't have a appointment.

"Oh Allen?" He is no longer with us?" She says smiling and my the blood in my body goes cold.

"What do you mean?" I stammer out.

"He was adopted by a lovely family a couple of days ago." She grins happily about his new family.

"I .. No. That is not possible." I whisper.

"Are you family?" She asks with great concern.

"I got this for him. I have to give it to him." The tears are stinging the rim of my eyes, threatening to fall and I swear I've never cried as much as I've cried these last few months of my life.

I rush my way through the front door, with Lauren's kind voice yelling for to "Stop!" or that I shouldn't go inside the room I was standing outside of. "Don't go in there!"

My fingers graze the cold metal knob before pushing it open and rushing through. The bunk bed that Allen once sat on was empty. The bed was stripped of its cotton sheets and white pillow.

I fall to my knees in desperation. I feel dead. I feel empty. I've had too many things ripped away from my life and before the child whom I no longer can get to know, is gone too.

I don't know how much longer I can continue to live like this.

I feel a soft hand on my shoulder, I don't even bother to glance up.

"I saw you run in and I got worried. The lady outside the door wanted me to talk to you before she came in." Harry's voice is cautious and treading.

"Gone." I whisper, barely clutching the action figure and finally letting all the pain out through my tears.

"I'm sorry." One of his hands hook around my arm and pull me up from the floor, hugging me closely.

I stand and lean into him for support as I wail in his chest. His large thumb rubs small circles into my back.

"I'm sorry." He repeats.

I ended up giving the toy to another kid who lived in the orphanage after I talked to Lauren. She said the family was wealthy and signed the papers right away. She didn't give me their names nor their address.

To say I was devastated was definitely a huge understatement.

"Smile, please?" Harry whines from behind me.

"Im sorry." I curl up further into the couch, cuddling my knees, Sasha resting just around my feet.

The house is pretty much empty since the day after tomorrow will we have moved into our new apartment. Adorned with boxes full of our stuff. The only items left in our house are the furniture.

"Don't apologize." He sighs, his hands resting on his hips. "We've had some good times here." Harry smiles as he takes a seat on the love chair, that is sat directly across from me.

"Every part of this house holds a memory." His fingers pick at the thick and colorful fabric on the chair which he claimed to hate. "Like that couch, we had our first kiss." He says, his face flushing.

If only he knew that we had kissed when he was drunk but he doesn't. He walks over to the couch picking up Sasha and putting her on the floor before he sat in her place.

"Let's make another memory before we leave, yeah?" He grins before pulling my hips onto his. I straddled him, nuzzling my head into his neck and wrapping my arms around his neck.

His arms wrap around my back as he dug his head into my shoulder. His lips slowly crept their way up my neck, leaving a trail of gentle and cautious kisses. I truly don't mind. I don't want for it to stop either.

"You've got rough skin." He says and I can feel his smile on my neck, as he chuckles.

"You always find a way to make me feel better." I sarcastically laugh.

"I know." He whispers just before his lips connect with mine and I am engulfed in a sea of warm and plum lips.
