He stood there gnawing his lip and running his hand through his hair. Even though he looked insanely attractive doing that, his time was running out."Well you've basically wasted your time,"
"Not really, I still have around 20 seconds left," he answered in a really cocky tone, I rolled my eyes.
"So why waste your time and count?" He didn't answer but simply he pulled me in for an embrace and then rested his lips on my forehead. I was taken aback at such an act. I heard him counting down the seconds he had left before he let me go, but honestly I felt so comfortable in his arms. Even though he didn't confess and explain anything to me this apology was basically what I really wanted.
"I love you," he whispered and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead then walked out of the locker rooms. I didn't know wether to run or stay, just as I was about to chase after him, my phone went off.
"Um, hey it's Sofia speaking. I'll be over there Dylan, just hold on."
"Sof, it's Keeley. Where are you? The game is about to start!"
"Oh, I was looking for you and yeah I kinda got lost. Why are you using Dylan's phone?"
"Long story, my phone is currently missing and I needed to speak to you. This game is pretty much everything, I really wanted you to see the beginning."
"Oh yeah sorry Keeley, I'm just in a bit of a daze, I'll try to make my way to the seats and I'll hand you some of your belonging later,"
"Thanks Sof, you really are the best!"
After ending the call, I made my way back, Dylan and Aubrey were just mingling with the surrounding spectators and I just slipped into my seat, avoiding any interrogation from the two.
"Aubrey, look who's here! Sofia, you didn't think you could get away that easy did you? Spill."
"What's there to say, I met Keeley, handed him his things and said good luck." I swear they could see through my lies.
"Sofia, really? Keeley asked for Dylan's phone because he couldn't find his and you! So you actually met someone else. Who was it?" Aubrey leaned over Dylan eager to find out what happened.
"I don't know where to start... oh look the games about to start be quiet." I thanked the stars and watched the crowd start chanting, the players from the opposition raced out onto the field and spread themselves, and then it was time for Keeley's team to come out. His teammates confidently jogged onto the field, I tried my best to look for him and found him coming out last. I started clapping and did a double take, his face was all bruised and bashed. I shook Dylan and Aubrey pointing to his face and arms.
"Oh my! What on earth happened to him?"
"Do you think he will be able to play?" I quickly ran up to the front of the bleachers and yelled his name. He turned around and as he saw me his face lightened but he quickly looked away and started to get ready for the game. The first half started and there was nothing to say other than that bruised or not. Keeley was ultimately a god of playing the sport of soccer. The score of 3-1, it was halftime. I tried to get his attention, but I could tell he was trying to ignore me. The break was really short, during the final half, Dylan and Aubrey were trying to ask people what happened to Keeley before the game. With no luck they jus shook their heads and continued to watch the game.
When the game was over, everyone ran onto the field and cheered as we won the game. I tried my best to find Keeley, but he was nowhere to be found.
I ran to the locker rooms, and found him cleaning up his wounds in front of the mirror, grimacing everytime the cotton pad touched his tender skin.
"Sofia, please not now."
"No, Keeley. What happened, here let me help." I picked up the first aid box and started to gather everything to clean up and dress the wounds around his body. He sat there not talking to me as I touched his lips, cheeks and arms that were all hurt.
"There, tell me if there is anything else you need ok? I'll just dispose these. Hold on." I calmly spoke.
"Sofia, wait!" I turned around.
"I don't care anymore, I've always wanted to do this." Keeley immediately placed his lips on mine. He gently caressed my face and my cheeks as we just stood there kissing each other.
"I hate to be disturbing you all, but Sofia your rides here."
