I stared at Dylan burning holes through his head. He just stared back smirking.
"So, you and Keeley, huh?" He said cockily. "Never would've guessed." My hand immediately lightly punched his arm.
"Shut up, I'm so embarrassed about that." It was super awkward when Dylan interrupted. Out of all people, why him? He's probably the biggest gossip the town has seen, he probably told the whole world by now.
"Have you told anyone yet?"
"Nope, not yet. Why? Would you like everyone to know, because Sofia you know I can do just that."
"Dylan, you wouldn't."
"Nah I wouldn't. Why because I love you." He playfully nudged my arm.
"Aw Dyl, thank you! I seriously thought you told like everyone." Instantly my phone started ringing.
"Sofia! Congrats with Keeley! Always knew you guys would hook up." Aubrey squealed. My eyes diverted to Dylan who was trying his best not to laugh. If he wasn't driving I probably would have tackled him to the ground.
"Did Dylan tell you?"
"Um yeah who else, he filled me in on everything that went down in the locker rooms, if you know what I mean." I cloudless tell she was winking on the other end of the line.
"Yeah well don't tell anyone else ok. I'm not sure what's really going on between us."
"Yeah, I got you. But stay safe, bye love you!" I ended the call and listened to Dylan ramble on about the game until we reached the college. I waved Dylan goodbye and I walked to my room. I jumped on my bed and gazed at the ceiling until I fell into a deep sleep.
The sound of my ringtone woke me up, it was around 9 am and luckily I didn't have any classes. I picked up the phone without looking at the ID.
"Yeah, urm, hello?"
"Hey! It's Magnus here, I was wondering if you wanted to meet up today so we could work on our project?" All of a sudden my body went from being asleep to wide awake.
"Oh, um sure. Just text me the details and we can start working on it." I ended the call. Talking to him over the phone was less awkward yet I felt strange. I think he and I were trying to forget about our little locker room incident. Well I was.
Quickly getting dressed, I texted Dylan to pick me up. He owed me a coffee and today's the day I'll use it. I sat myself in front of my rectangular mirror. I stared at myself for a good minute, before picking up my hair and making a ponytail. I grabbed my purse and keys and waited for Dylan, Magnus had texted me wanting to meet at a cafe in the afternoon.
"Get in Sofia!" Dylan yelled halfway across the parking lot. I made my way to the front seat and realised Aubrey was in it. She looked suspicious like she wanted to find out something. Maybe a little something about me.
"Sofia and Keeley sitting in..."
"Don't." I snapped glaring holes through her head. Aubrey was the child in the group and of course she had to tease me about Keeley like we were high school students again. I tried my best to block out the questions by staring out the window, but I thanked the Lord as we just stopped in front of the mall which had our favourite coffee shop and arcade in. What? I'm pretty much a lover of all things that give you prizes.
We make our way to the counter, Dylan pays for us all. We head back and then all hell breaks loose. I swear I must of woke up late because there Magnus is waiting for me with some textbooks and a laptop. Seeing him keep to his promise and commitment just made me smile but I quickly hid it away and tried my best to block him out from Dylan and Aubrey. Otherwise I would be taunted for the rest of my life.
"What's going on guys? School been hitting you hard with some stuff?" Aubrey asks and then follows up with some stories of guys in her classes trying to ask her out. She makes it seems like she hates it but really she loves the attention. And that's why I like her, she's not afraid to speak her mind. I look over at Dylan and somehow he isn't talking much. Just playing with the froth on his coffee. I've never understood Aubrey and Dylan's relationship. One minute they're like two total idiots next minute they're like two awkward children who have a cute crush in each other. The table goes quiet and Dylan and Aubrey turn their heads towards me. I immediately think I've said that sentence out loud. But oh no.
Standing behind me is the one and only Magnus. If only he knew that if you hurt Sofia, you mess with her best friends. And Aubrey and Dylan's faces were ready to verbally attack Magnus in a second. Before anything could happen I tried my best to explain the situation,
"Woah! Guys calm down. Magnus and I are in the same class and we were paired together. I was going to tell you but..."
"Magnus, could you just return to your table please. We would like to have a word with Sofia." Aubrey huffed out. Oh boy. It looked like I was going to be given a lecture.
"Now, we all know that this was going to happen. But we know what's best for you. Keeley. Dylan. And me." Expressing the Keeley bit.
"We don't want to see you get hurt. He was your first and yeah." She gave me a hug and Dylan too. Like I was about to face the battle of love again. Luckily the coffee shop was deserted otherwise I would have been embarrassed. I made my way to Magnus's table and we awkwardly waited until Dylan and Aubrey left the premises of the shop. He handed me a coffee and some sweets and we began to work, no small talk, nothing. And then he asked me a really weird question,
"Hey do you still need help learning to drive?"
