The storm hasn't died down. The huge rain drops and hail hit the glass of the apartment and flood my balcony. Everyone has been informed that they are supposed to keep indoors. Meaning Magnus and I are stuck with each other, after he awkwardly confessed what he's been trying to tell me this whole time. My parents wanted us together.
"Well since this storm isn't going anywhere, why don't we finish our project?" Instead of making it awkward between us, why not make light of the situation. After all, that assignment needs to be completed.
"I think we've almost finished just need to add a conclusion and then edit." He huffed while opening the document on my laptop. I was getting hungry, so I made some food for the both of us. While I was cooking and Magnus was typing, I looked at him a couple of times. His hair nicely cut, little strands falling in front of his face. His muscles bulging out of his shirt. How come I never noticed that before?
"Sof, can you come over here and check this out?" My cheeks started burning up, he bloody noticed I was staring at him. I walked over and looked at the concluding paragraph, typing up some suggestions and making a few tweeks. His mouth was right near my ear,
"You know I could see you staring at me from the kitchen. Were you drooling at me or the food cause I'm hungry!" He playfully raced to the kitchen and started helping himself. That idiot! He was totally making fun of me.
"Save some for me, jerk!" I yell. After minutes of arguing we finally start eating our dinner.
"What's going on between you and Keeley?" He asks staring at me to see my reaction. I gulp and I try my best to avoid that we are on the verge of dating.
"Nothing, you know he was the only one that stayed from your group and cared about me. Don't get me wrong Tim and everyone else are lovely I still keep in touch but they're halfway across the country. So when Keeley and I started to see we had a lot in common and we became best friends."
"I see, well you know..." a loud knock on the door interrupted Magnus from speaking, I rushed and opened the door. Claude the manager was checking up on everyone, he advised that we shouldn't use too much electricity and to keep indoors. We would be notified when we could go out, and anyone from the college was informed that classes were cancelled. I thanked him and gently shut the door. Magnus had cleared up our plates and was standing in front of the window with a deep thoughtful look on his face.
"I think I'm going to call my roommates and tell them I'm okay, is it okay if I stay here for the night?"
"Uh, sure. I'll check setup your bed and stuff, the bathrooms down the hallway to the right and yeah." I setup the sofa bed and threw on quilts and blankets while Magnus went to the bathroom. After a couple of minutes I just sat on his bed, and thought about him and Keeley. I don't know where my heart belonged.
"Thanks Sof," Magnus whispered as he sat next to me on his bed. I quickly got up and shouted that I needed to use the bathroom, which was true and I needed to get changed. The hot shower relaxed my tense muscles. I stood there for a while imagining my life with Keeley and Magnus. Both so different yet I felt like I belonged in one rather than the other.
Just as I was finishing in the shower, a loud crack of thunder was heard and all of a sudden the lights went out. I slipped. Now isn't a bad time to say I hate the dark and I'm absolutely terrified of it. I forgot that Magnus was here and I started crying, asking for Dylan, Aubrey or anyone to help me. I could feel warm blood trickling down my leg, yet it was so pitch black I couldn't see a thing.
"SOFIA! Where are you? Sof, what's wrong, I can't get this door unlocked." Magnus was shouting. And then my worst fear of the dark vanished and Magnus seeing me naked was my number one fear at the current time. I winced as I tried to get up. Holding the shower door as a frame. I quickly grabbed a towel and held back my screams. I fumbled for the doorknob and clicked it to unlock. In a second, Magnus came rushing in with a candle and was horrified when he saw how badly I was injured.
"Sof, I don't want you to freak out but you are losing a lot of blood. Stay in here, I'll bring more light and some first aid." After a second, he came back in asking me where my candles and first aid was. I just laughed and told him in the cupboard next to my bedroom. He raced and in a world record time he came back like a knight in shining armour saving his injured princess. My heart and stomach stopped as I took in how caring he was to me and how much he cared.
I shut my eyes as he carried me to the bathtub and ran the cold water on my cut.
"How do you even manage to cut yourself this badly?" Magnus questioned. I even wondered that, like seriously I just slipped on wet water. Then I saw in the dimly lit room that I must of hit the edge of the glass door. Really hard. I was taking deep breaths the pain was really bad. I could tell Magnus wanted to major in medicine in the future, he was so precise when treating my wounds.
"Haha, ouch. I guess this is great practice for you."
"Yeah I guess, lucky I was here, Sof. You would have probably bleed to death or killed everyone by screaming your head off." I lightly punched his arm.
"Oh be quiet."
After a couple of minutes, Magnus finished and carefully lifted me to my room. I blushed furiously as I tried to quickly get dressed while Magnus waited outside the room.
"Done." I called out,
"Okay well I'm going to sleep now, so if you need anything just yell out." whispered Magnus.
"Wait! I'm scared." He stopped and I tried my best to walk over to him. He grabbed my hand and squeezed it gently.
"It's okay, I'll be here." I placed my arm around his shoulder and I walked to his bed. We sat there for a while looking out at the dying storm. Jus as we were about to sleep, Magnus whispered.
"Don't ever leave me again,"
