"So this is it, huh?" I sighed, slumping my shoulders and anchoring my hands on my sling bag.

"Honey, I-" Mom began but I cut her off with a stern nod.

"Okay, well, good luck!" She conceded as I hopped out the car and onto Lakewood High's grounds. I trudged over to where a big sign pointed to admin office.

"Hi!" A perky voice greeted me as I stepped into the school. I turned around to face a tall woman with a beehive of hair behind the desk.

"You must be the new student! I'm Mrs. White, it's so lovely to meet you." She said, grabbing my hand in a firm shake.

"We, um, don't exactly have someone to guide you around...Scarlet! This is Scarlet she can guide you around!" Mrs. White pushes the short girl that was standing behind her toward me, sending the papers she was holding to the ground. Mrs. White then turns around to her own work, ignoring us completely.

"Hi, I'm Scarlet." She awkwardly waves from a safe distance, her curly brown hair bouncing as she turned around to grab her bag.

"Ellie." I say, following her as she heads out the door then towards the front of the school.

"Oh shoot!" She announced, turning to me with big brown eyes, well more like craning her head skyward she was so short.

"I forgot your papers and schedule in the office, let me get them for you. I'll be just a minute." Scarlet called over her shoulder as she ran back to the admin office, leaving me alone.

I looked around the quiet school-grounds, it seemed peaceful enough...

"I'm back!" Scarlet called a minute later.

"Here's your schedule, I'll show you to your class and here's your papers, don't pay too much attention to them, just hand them to your admin class." She said as she handed me an envelope of papers and a single one.

"I'll show you to your class real quick then I'll leave you to it."

I followed Scarlet as she showed me where the bathrooms were and then to my class.

"Here we are!" She exclaimed, thrusting her hands out to the door.

"Ms. Coelho." I mumble. Scarlet begins laughing as I say this. I turn around to see a big beaming smile on her face.

"It's pronounced Cool-ho!" She mocks in a British accent. As she begins to sober up the bell rings.

"Well, I'll see you around!" She yells over her shoulder as she trots down the stairs.

I'm about to reply when the door is flung open. A young-ish woman stands in front of me, her copper-red hair hangs loosely around her shoulders and blends in with the red sweater she's wearing.

"Come in." I do as she says as most of the other kids behind me follow suit.

"Take a seat!" She barks in a thick british as most of the class filters in, chatting about how glad they were that they were in the same class as their friends.

Two girls, in particular, catch my eye, one with the bushiest brown hair I've ever seen and another with the brightest Union Jack on her top. The one with the bushy hair is singing some song, while laughing her ass off, while the other has the most unimpressed face on.

"I am Miss Coelho," Our teacher begins once everyone has taken a seat. "That is pronounced cool-ho!" At this half of the class begins to giggle and make jokes. I simply smile to myself.

"I see we also have a new student, please come here and tell us your name and a bit about you."

Panic, panic, PANIC.

I hate standing up in front of the class. It's one of the scariest things for me. I nervously stand up and walk to the front of the class.

As I reach the front a green Louboutin heel is thrust under my feet, I can describe them perfectly from the fact that I was face to face with them.

On the floor.

In front of my entire class.

I wanted to curl into a ball and never talk to anyone ever again when a hand pops up in front of my face. The girl with the Union Jack helps me up, while her friend hands me my glasses.

"Thank you." I mumble, the girls just smile sympathetically at me. I turn back to the board and start back again to the front.

"Ellie Mitchell. Huh, please go take your seat." Ms. Coelho said once I had written my name on the board.

On my way back I made sure to look out for the green heel again and took my seat.

The bell rings as I sit down. I grab my bags and rush out of the class.

"Ellie?" I turn around to face Union Jack girl and Bushy Hair girl.

"Hi, you're new right? Well, we just thought maybe you'd like some friends, I'm Alivia and this is Rowan." Union Jack girl pointed to Bushy Hair girl next to her.

"Um, thanks." I stuttered.

"You can walk with us to class if you'd like." Rowan smiles openly.

"That would be nice, thank you." I say as I follow them to class.
