I sat in the car staring numbly at Eton, no, Jonas's head in my lap. His blood had started to soak through the fabric of my skirt.
I was in the car for at least ten minutes before someone flung open the door and jerked me out of the car, then through a blanket over me and lead me away.
My heart pounded, although I knew it was just Scar and Liv. What if they had seen what I had done? I had killed someone!
Suddenly, the air seemed too thick to breathe and difficult to get into my lungs. I gasped for air and pressed my hand to my chest.
"Breathe, in four, hold seven, out eight." I heard Scarlet say soothingly next to my ear. I tried to breathe how she said and could feel my pulse slowing down.
"In here, we need to talk." Liv pushed me into her room, I'd barely even noticed we were in her house.
"We believe you." They said as soon as we sat down. I was so taken aback that I had no words. They actually thought I was telling the truth?
"We some research on cults and satan-kind of stuff in Salem, but nothing came up..." Liv looked down into her lap disappointingly.
"They're not a cult, well, I don't think they are, Eton, uh, Jonas-" I began, but Scar cut me off.
"Who's Jonas?" And so I explain everything that happened in the past week to them. Scar sits with a curious expression on her face, while Liv looks angry.
"What the hell?!" She burst out once I was done.
Scar suddenly looks furious, too.
"They're trying to kill you! To make sure you don't go to the police about what you saw!"
Liv turns to me enquiringly "Have you gone to the police?"
I nod my head 'yes' and they both look down into they're laps.
Scar suddenly jerks her head up. "On Saturday night we have to go back into the woods."
"Are you crazy?!"
"They're trying to bloody-well kill me!"
"Do you want her to get killed?!"
Liv and I say at the same time.
"That exactly why we should!" Scar jumps up and runs to Liv's computer, types in the password at lightning pace and scrolls through the open new articles. A page opens with a picture of a woman standing over a young girl with a knife. The art style looks ancient.
"How did you-?" Live begins, but Scar silences her with a wave. "That doesn't matter right now, see, this isn't a new thing around here. Years ago, like the 1800's, there was a queen, see, Queen Dena." She pointed to the woman standing over the child, a crown was placed delicately on her head. Blood dripped from it and covered the young girl below her.
"Dena married into the royal family, but, just like Snow White, she hated her step-daughter, Princess Arianne, because she was jealous of the kingdoms love for Arianne, and just wanted to marry her off to a rich man."
"What does this have to do with people wanting to kill me?" I asked.
"Just wait! So, back then your parents arranged your marriage, right? But Arianne fell in love with a knight. She fell pregnant with him, though and had twins," Scar pulled up a page with an image of a beautiful woman holding two children, another older, uglier woman was behind her holding a man's head over her. "But when Dena found out she was furious, she ordered Arianne's love to kill Arianne and the children, he refused, so she killed him. One of Arianne's maids ran away with the children, as the princess had told her to. Dena found Arianne and killed her, vowing to kill off Arianne's whole lineage, for disgracing her like that."
