The second book takes place 4 years in the future (if I'm wrong, sorry XD I'm too lazy to look back) where Anne has been placed in a mental asylum. A detective, Detective Shultz, finds her case and decides to try and solve the mystery of Anne's horrific story. Little does he know that the clowns are more than just in Anne's head...
