Chapter 8-the suprise

((Dawson's POV)) *as we walk into the hotel I turn my phone on as it's a well known fact Texas has no extradition treaty with the United States and if they invade they'd break international law meaning they'd be up against some of the largest militaries in the world* "you don't think the government will come after us here do you?" *i ask* "they can't, less they want a war" *sky says*"a world war" *luke says* "ending in a blaze of nuclear fire"*sky says looking around then turns back towards the door*"something's not right" *he says for a moment taking his rifle from where it's shouldered and a second later United States forces roll up and a full squad unloads in front of the hotel* "war....war never changes" *luke says and sky nods slightly as the four of us prepare ourselves for what we know is coming* "I don't want to do this" *sky says after a moment* "I've killed enough of these assholes" *i look him squarely in the eyes* "then you sign your own death warrant, because they will kill you and then they will kill the rest of us surrender isn't an option"*i pause a moment* "it doesn't matter what you've been through because I'm sure we've all been through our own special pits of hell what matters is how you take it, and if you won't fight for yourself fight for your family and friends, put yourself to the side and fight goddamnit!"*in my best Impression of Winston churchchil* "we will never surrender we will not bow we will fight this evil until the last man"*i say and that seems to the trick as sky takes his weapon and ducks into cover when the call of a sniper rifle is heard and one the soldiers goes down followed by the sound of a helicopter flying low and then all hell breaks loose as border patrol, state troopers and even a SWAT team roll up and join in the fight and the four of us burst from the hotel and open fire as more sniper shots are heard as the fight escalates as both sides get reinforcements* -meanwhile in the capital, office of President grant coin leader of the Texas republic- ((the presidents POV)) "here we go again" *i mutter to myself as I hear my assistant knock on the door* "come in! " *i say after a moment leaning back in my chair as the assistant walks in* "sir, I suggest you watch this" *he says grabbing the remote to the rooms small tv and turning it on the headline reads "border clash underway with United States forces" and I lean forward in my chair suddenly* "that real?" *i ask and the assistant nods* "assemble the minutemen, get me an espresso scramble some fighter jets and a military unit to that location, and I'll leave it you what order that's to be done in" *and with that the assistant runs from the room and I start making calls* -minutes later- ((sky's POV)) *as minute men arrive the fire fight starts to wind down as the military starts to retreat as theyre outnumbered 10 to 1 and dont have near the necessary firepower though several soldiers keep shooting at their primary objective, us for a minute and we fire back until they hope in their vehicles and speed off* "feel that?"*i ask dawson as the two of us stand up*"means we're done here" *and with that we all come from where we were hiding behind cover as fighter jets make a low pass overhead the roar of their engines near deafening*"little late!" *i half shout up at them* "what?"*i ask the crowd of people looking at me like im stupid*"we're all thinking it, im just the one with nerve enough to say it"
