(dawsons POV)"this is bullshit" *i say bluntly*"trust me, it could be worse"*luke says*"because theres a cost to what we do. raising hell makes enemies and something says our body count is whats behind this whole thing"*i sigh*"i doubt it..this aint a movie..and no revenge plot actually gets such planning in the real world" *luke nods*"maybe not i love to see you come up with something better "*he says*"i got nothin...other then maybe this is some kinda...plot to rid the world of us because whomever it is sees us as evil,"*i pause as ellie hands me a long range hand-held radio*"stop the car"*i say after a moment and luke stares at me*"you nuts?"*i nod*"juries out on that"*i say after a moment and as the truck comes to a stop i step out with a smug look as about twenty or so men get out of the cars tailing us*"blackjack blackjack this is talon"*i say into the radio*"you air borne yet?"*pause*"we are sir. making a low buzz of your position in 30 seconds"*and exactly thirty seconds pass before a small reaper drone zooms overhead*"never trust a man to not have a good card up his sleeve"*i say leaning against the truck knowing those controlling the drone have my back and it would take a special dumbass to engage with a reaper overhead *"come at me"*i say and as one of the men raises their weapon i fire a beam of ice at them and smile seeing the various cameras on their helmets and the dash cams in their cars*"see..theres a thing you hired gun types dont get"*i say leaning against the truck*"there are three things a man should fear, the reaper, his friends, and most importantly..a man whose family they just threatened...especially when that man has nothing to fear with the first two and has the might of god almighty, a few hundred men and a pissed off teenager on his side...in other words, to quote a friend when he was 3....you fucked up"*i snag a rifle from the back of the truck*"so, here's how i see it. you've got two choices, stay and get a meeting with your maker or recognize who your against..a man whose fought off aliens twice, met time travelers and gods alike and fought a few hundred of your kind. so with this in mind, do the smart thing! let someone else try first"*and with this i raise my rifle as i hear luke and ellie doing the same behind me and there's an uneasy silence but then all hell breaks loose*-meanwhile-(Blayke's POV)*as i stand off with the five men i hear footsteps behind me followed by the faint click of a rifle safety behind me*"i suggest you gentlemen put your guns away slowly"*i hear a voice say*"before i let my wizard friend do what he wants to you"*the voice adds and i smile slightly knowing now who the voice is, an old team ally Mason. james Mason and i then spot four more LOGSH (league of gunslinging heroes) members enter shotguns at the ready as the five men put their guns away and run for the door and i turn around and smile slightly at the now slightly grey haired detective as i slide my guns back in their holsters*"you sure are showing your age these days"*i say after a moment*"im feeling it too"*he says lowering the rifle and putting the safety back on*"45 years old now"*he says removing his hat*"though i find it funny....how i scare the shit out of people easier the older i am..though some say its because i look and sound a bit like Wolverine..i personally think its because im just that intimidating""you keep telling yourself that old man"*alex says walking up*"the wizard friend line tends to do more then you admit"*mason nods*"i suppose you do have a point.."*he says and pauses looking to me*"what is it your doing here exactly?"*he asks me*"waiting to hear updates on two members of the team and my husband"*i say softly*"what happened?"*alex asks*"sky was shot, my bet is it was an assassination attempt and logan and dalton got ambushed..roadside thermite car bomb...last i heard their ether in the ICU or the burn unit"*the two nod*"what about luke and dawson?"*mason asks*"luke sent out an emergency broadcast over the ORACLE system, its why we're here"*alex adds*"oh shit"*i say quietly*"what?"*alex asks and i point towards the door to the outside and as he and mason turn around they turn pale*"goddammit"*mason says*"thats nothing"*alex says calmly*"thats easy for you to say wizard"*mason mutters*"could be worse"*alex says*"he has a point" *i say after a moment*
