This is Us* Vol 1*

*Jongdae*

I kept my arms crossed over my chest and decided to just walk past the classroom at full speed. I then sighed and dropped my arms as I wished that our classrooms weren't near one another. For someone having a crush on someone else I sure always wanted to avoid Kim Jongdae of class C-4. I took one step then another and then finally I zoomed passed the classroom and as I was about to step into the entrance of my own classroom that voice called out. "Jae!" he shouted and I felt all the blood drain from my face, I turn around and he smiles and makes his way over to me. 

"Um..Jongdae," I merely say and then he spreads his arms and squeezes me in one of our friendly hugs. "You zoomed passed my class and I thought you where late!" he tells me as he steps back and crosses his arms, "so why are you going past my class so fast lately?" he asks me and I let out a nervous laugh. "I just want to be early to class! Exams are right around the corner," I tell him and he shakes his head. "You're the smartest person I know, no exam is a match for your brain," he says and flicks my head causing me to punch him in his arm. "Ah!" he says trying to keep the howl of pain at a low because him getting hit by a girl and crying would hurt his manly ego. "That's what you get for flicking my head," I tell him and he only winks at me causing me to divert my attention somewhere else, my watch. "Theres 2minutes till class starts, I'll see you at break," I tell him and turn around heading back to my class. When I look in the direction of his class I see him also standing to the side watching me. I immediately blush and proceed to my desk where I pull out the first hours books and tap my pencil on my desk and stair at how lovely it was today. It was set to storm but the dark clouds made it seem like cozy weather. 

"Jae!!" said a too excited voice and I turned to the desk on my right, "Hey Baek," I tell him with a small smile and he places a hand on his heart. I look at him unusual like always and then he speaks, "You know I fall in love more every time you say my name," he says and gets closer-much too closer. "Leave her alone! She is meant for Jongdae," says another voice and I look to my left where Ryu takes her seat. "What?!" I say and shuffle in my seat, "Oh Jae it's not that hard to see it! You can't honestly tell me you look at Jongdae and only see him as a friend?" she questions me but our teacher tells everyone to take their seat and open their books to todays section. 

Halfway through the lesson Baekhyun pushed a note over to me. In his pretty penmanship it read, 'I liked you first :'(,'  I sigh and turn to him and he is doodling in his notebook then meets my eyes. I break eye contact off with him and go back to paying attention to the lesson.

I quickly make my way out of the classroom as the bell goes off and I feel I can breath. Baekhyun was always like that but his seriousness was what scared me, I just didn't see him like an interest but a really good friend. I make my way to the cafeteria to buy some snacks when I hear footsteps running from behind me. I turn around and see it's Jongdae with a box in his hand, "You didn't wait!" he whines and I face palm as I wrap my arm around his and we continue our way to the lunch area. 

"Is that a lunch box?" I ask him and he nods as I purchase drinks and chips for us. "I made it to share because I'm getting tired of eating snacks," he says and we both laugh and head outside to a table under a oak tree. When he sets the box down he takes it apart and gives me one piece and takes another piece as his own. "I hope it's to your liking, I am not a cook but I can sing!" he says and we laugh, "have you gone to auditions?" I ask him as I stuff my face with the amazing kimbap he prepared. He takes a drink and cracks it open and shakes his head, "I haven't," he simply says and I stand up and place both hands on the table. "You.Must.Do.This!!" I shout and he smiles and waves a hand for me to take my seat, "I know but...what if I am not enough?" he asks and I shake my head. "You'll be their prize gem! Jongdae you always sing for me when I am down, and your voice is perfect! Nobody can reach high notes like you!" I say and he laughs and smiles in my direction, "sometimes I just want to sing for you," he says again and stuffs more food into his mouth. I feel my cheeks begin to grow red and I look back at my food, not having anymore appetite to finish.

Once classes had finished I was making my way out with Baekhyun and Ryu when I saw Jongdae waiting for me. Ryu took Baekhyun who was about to cause a scene and dragged themselves the opposite way. "Ready?" he asks and I nod my head, we begin to walk to my house, "I am going to an audition," he says breaking the silence and I stop and tackle him in a hug. "Finally!!" I scream and he takes a hold of my wrist and we stand there smiling and looking at one another. I feel myself get flustered so I attempt in breaking away and keeping the walk going but he pulls me into his chest, this hug feeling different then all the others. 

"Jae before I go to this audition I just want you to know. I sing to you because I really really like you, and if I do manage to get into a company you'll always be the reason why I made it," he says and I hold him tighter. "You did it though, I just encouraged because I can see the talent oozing from you," I tell him and he breaks away and looks into my eyes, "Not if it wasn't for you," he tells me one last time.

When we reach my house he kisses my forehead and then ruffles my hair. "See you tomorrow...jagi," he says and walks away. I stand their shocked and then run to him, "Are we a couple?" I ask him and he stops walking and looks at me, "I wouldn't call a girl who isn't my girlfriend jagi," he says and snickers, I pull at his shirt collar and kiss his lips. I soon let go and quickly make my way to the gate of my house. "Good luck!" I shout and he bows and smiles and continues his way. I slide down to the floor and smile to myself, then I stand up and immediately wish hard that Jongdae would make his audition. 

"For Jongdae please!" I tell myself and then see it begin to rain.

"Kim Jongdae and Byun Baekhyun," a man called and I looked to Baekhyun. We didn't do a lot of talking in school but I knew him from being around Jae. He looks in my direction and then gets up walking ahead, we are taken back to the audition room where the 3 people who observed us stared with stone expressions.

 "You two have both made it, SM Entertainment would be happy to take you in as rookies," says a man in the middle and places two folders down for us. "Those are what your schedules look like for training, you can grow in your voices but dancing would need to be addressed," he says and Baekhyun and I approach the folders taking them and looking over. "Just because you made it as a trainee doesn't mean your stay is permanent. You will have to give all you got in training! Currently SM is focused on producing another boygroup and there's a chance you both could be chosen, only one, or neither of you at all. Are you ready to juggle being a trainee?" the man asked and I looked to Baekhyun who immediately nodded his head and then I did too. "Well where done here boys, Good luck," the man says and we begin to take our leave. 

We look at our folders and then at one another, "Look Jongdae I have my own reasons for being a singer and one of them is for someone I hold close to my heart," he says and I close mine and look at him with an intense gaze. "Baekhyun I have the same reason for being a singer, and you won't come in between it I am sorry," I say and begin to make my way home. "It's for Jae!" he shouts and I turn around and nod my head. "May the best man win," he tells me and smiles as he heads the opposite way. 

The War has commenced.
