Chapter 12

A silhouette of a man on the window.

"Daniel! Look there's someone out there. I saw someone's shadow." I pointed towards the window in the kitchen. He asked the guards to look around. The guards returned with nothing.  They convinced him saying everything is good. He consoled me saying that there is no one out there.

He made coffee, we sat on the couch together and spent some time chatting.

I later asked him, why are there so many guards out there. He responded to me that they are for his security. I asked him why does he need security. Just when he was about to reply there was a power cut. He instructed the guards to look into the problem.

Suddenly, the electricity was back. I was still standing in the hall, near the couch when someone wrapped their arm around my neck with a pointed object probably a knife dangerously touching my neck.
I yelled for Daniel's help. He came their. He looked alarmed.

"Just let me take her along and I won't cause you any harm." The man asked Daniel to clear his way and let him take me.

"I perfectly have nothing to do with you mate..just let me out with her. Don't get yourself involved!"  The man addressed Daniel. His voice is oddly familiar.

I was still wondering who that man is when Daniel was approaching towards me, the man quickly took a gun out of his pocket and pointed it towards Daniel.

I was trembling with the knife almost digging into my throat.

Daniel tried to talk to him but he kept chanting that he should just let him take me away. Daniel compromised with him and asked him to take me.

I was shocked to hear him. As soon as he started walking towards the door, Daniel quickly kicked on his leg. He was about to fall and lost his grip on me. I moved away from him. He fell on the ground. He looked at Daniel and shot at him. Daniel quickly doved to the ground and the bullet gouged the wall.

When all the guards were standing outside the door. But it was locked from inside. I tried to go at the door when he shot another bullet which made window glass shatter, spewing glass shards every where. I covered my face hearing the bullet shot.

He stood up when Daniel grabbed his hand and tried to take the gun, the man cut Daniel's arm with the knife. The blood seeping from the cut in his left arm, he punched his right fist on the man’s face, shattering his nose.

He then smashed an elbow into the side of man's skull, the soft spot high on the temple.

It rocked him and he took a step back and then steadied himself, blinking his eyes and staring at Daniel. His headache must have been a starburst.

When he was about to fire yet another bullet, Daniel quickly raised his leg and kicked him when the force made the gun drop to the ground from his hand. Guards managed to come in and they grabbed him and  took his mask off his face and I was horrified to see who he was.

Crystal's POV:

When I woke up I saw everything very bright and as white as snow. Everything was shining and sparkling as bright as diamond.

Wait!! What happened to me?? Where am I?? Last thing I remember is that, I was hit by something hard on my head... though I don't feel any pain now.

Wait! Am I dead? I may be in heaven... this place is nothing like the place on earth. Everything is so different here. I looked around when I saw water floating on the roof, with the stars....though there's a huge glass to prevent the water from getting in... I am pretty sure by now that I am dead and by God's grace I am in heaven.

Wow!! Thank you God!

This is amazing! I was jumping on the luxurious bed which was way too big. Suddenly, Charlotte's thought made me worried. Oh God! What about Charles? She will not be able to cope with the news of my departure here. How will she survive in the world of those cruel people. Wait!! What will that Monster do to my sister now?? Does he even know that I am dead? Oh wait, is he alive?? Thought about my dear sister made me cry. I was crying like a small child does.

I had so many doubts! Suddenly, someone slammed open the huge door of that place and to my surprise it was none other than the Monster....

Drake's POV:

Earlier, when I reached back to the house, a man in the mask was carrying Crystal on his shoulder and she passed out. He was about to escape when I kicked him on his shin he lost his balance and lost his grip on Crystal. She was about to fall when I soon rushed towards her and this made her fall into my arms in bridal style. I quickly dropped her on sofa until then the man ran for his life.

I took her along with me to another place. It was my birthplace, The Kingston Palace. It was faraway from the city. If I want a safe hideout. Nevertheless, that's the right place.

I drove there in midnight. After reaching there I carried Crystal to a room and laid her on bed. I wondered what happened to her. I left her to sleep.

Later next morning, I made myself small breakfast. I was having my breakfast when I heard some weird noises from Ms Disaster's room. I guess she is now awake. I rushed to her room and to my extreme astonishment she was crying.... she was crying loudly like a baby. But,the moment her eyes shifted on me she quit crying and was numb. With her jaw drop and fused eyebrows, I wondered what's going on in her mind.

"What in the he-heaven are you doing? You must be very happy by now.....I wonder how in the heaven are you given a place here"  She infuriated and got down from the bed.
