I opened my eyes to see people leaning over me. I was lying on the cool stone floor of the hallway. They all wore worried expressions. I blinked a few times to clear my head fog. Finally someone spoke

"Merlin are you alright?" It was Perceveil, "We couldn't find Gaius but you felt really cold is your head ok?"

I took a slow breath then replied "yeah I'm fine" Perceveil seemed unconvinced.

"What happened? You seemed fine earlier and then suddenly you run out in the middle of the feast, one of the other servents said you looked ill are you sure you're ok?"

"Yes I'm totally-" I dropped off mid sentence and blinked. Arthur. His message. I had to leave as soon possible.

"Wha-"
"Ihavetoleaverightnow" I tried to push him out of the way and stand but he gently grabbed my arm and pushed my back to the floor. "Just relax ok? Gaius is on his way." I shook my head violently and shoved him away then popped up to a standing position.

Head rush.

My vision went temporarily black and blood pounded through my head. I squeezed my eyes shut and and brought my hands to my head, I felt Perceveil put has arms out behind me ready for my fall but I refused.

I blinked and shook my head then turned and stumbled down the hallway. Perceveil followed at my heels.

"Where are you going?"
"Not important but I have to leave now."
"No Merlin actually it is important, if you're going to run off again at least tell us where you're going"
Right. Forgot that I may or may not have left the castle every now and then and may or may not have not returned for several days... Maybe...

I stopped and turned to him and said "I'm feeling a bit... Sick... Is it alright if I skip the rest of the feast and just head home?"
"Oh... Of course go ahead I'll inform Gwen so you don't get in trouble."
I would plan my escape later it would take more than this.

He followed me all the way to our door where he told me to "feel better" before shutting the door. Thoroughly exhuasted by the day's events I sat down at our small table and lay my head on the smooth wooden surface.

How would I escape this place? It couldn't be that hard...

Gaius was shaking my shoulders, it was dark outside and I could hear rain pounding the stone walls. Must've fallen asleep.

"Merlin are you alright?" Gaius asked cautiously, "One of the knights said you passed out during the feast" I waved him away.
"I'm fine, Gaius I know how to bring Arthur back." he looked taken aback

"How... How do you know this?"
"Because he told me."
"Merlin-
"Just listen for second! I passed out and had a vision of HIM and HE told me where to go and what to do! I can bring him back!"
"Merlin how do you know this isn't a trap."
"Because it isn't! I know in my heart that this is Arthur, we were together for four years I doubt that any intruder could convince me otherwise."
He looked at me skeptically

But this was the truth.

"He said to leave right away."
"Merlin I forbid it!"
"But"
"Listen. If you were him and you had made it to the beyond would you really want to be brought back?"

I stared at him in silence. What if Arthur didn't want to be brought back? No, of course he would want to that's why he came to me right? Right. I would still go but I would have to convince him that I wasn't.

I sighed and nodded then stood up and mumbled "I'm going back to sleep," and headed into my room. Once there I locked the door and pulled out my biggest traveling pack. I shoved as many things as I could think of including the book of spells from Gaius all those years ago. Then I waited in silence.

I waited for one hour. Two hours. Three hours. When I was finally certain that Gaius was asleep I grabbed my bag and quietly hurried out the door, down the halls, and out the back entrance to the stables, I grabbed Arthur's horse, he recognized me and nuzzled his face into my hip before allowing me to mount him.

Then without regards to the noise his hooves made I rode as fast as he could run out of the stables and all the way to the city gates into the rainy night.

This began my quest to save Arthur.
