Chapter 12

As the train came to a stop you slowly fluttered your eyes opened to find a sleeping Edward. You giggle as he silently snores and you try to wake him up gently. "Edward come on we're here." He mumbles a bit and slowly open his eyes. "Yawn are we finally here?" He asks still half asleep. "Yup oh by the way here is your coat back." You start to take it off but then he stops you. "No you keep it on looks better on you then it does on me." He says with a wide smile that makes you blush. "Oh um t-thank you." You say stumbling on your words. As you walk to the Rockbell's house every now and then you would take a glance at Edward while millions and millions of thoughts run through your head. " Did he seriously say this looks better on me?? No I can't blush he might notice, he was just complimenting me he was just be nice, then if it was just a compliment while the hell is my heart beating like crazy I need to tell someone about this maybe Winry can help I'm so excited to see her it's been ages."  As you continued with the thoughts in your head you didn't realize you had already gotten to the house, you also didn't realize a wrench coming towards your head. BAM! "EDWARD YOU IDIOT I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO CALL ME WHEN YOU'RE COMING HERE FOR MAINTENANCE!" Winry yells from her balcony. She sees Edward still standing there perfectly fine and unharmed and was confused. "Who did I exactly hit?" As you try to stand up from that massive impact from that wrench you manage to speak. "Ughh jeez Winry is that how you greet someone you haven't seen in a long time?!" Her eyes widen with tears as she comes running down to the front door. As she stands near the doorway she rubs her eyes hoping they were not playing tricks on her before she jumps and tackles you in a hug. "Y/N I'VE MISSED YOU SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!!!!" You laugh at this and return the hug back with tears at the corner of your eyes. "I've missed you too, I'm sorry I've been gone for so long. She smiles and drags you into the house to catch up on each others lives. "Come on Y/n lets get you cleaned up you're all dusty." You try to release yourself from her grip but nothing. "You don't have to drag me though" You say with worry. As you look back you see Alphonse and Edward trying desperately to hold back their laughs. You couldn't do anything as you were still in Winry's grasp until you two reached her room. "Ow damn Winry you have a tight grip." You say as you sit on her bed and try to ease the pain on your wrist. She laughs at this as she looks for bandages for that wrench impact from earlier. She walks up to you and starts to bandage your head. "Sorry about the wrench it was mostly aimed at Edward since he wears that same coat you are wearing." As she takes a closer look at the coat she jumps back in surprise. "Is that his coat?!" You nod trying to hide your blushes as you try to work up the courage to talk to her about Edward. "Um Winry speaking about Edward wel-" "You like him don't you?" You blinked in surprise at how quickly she figured it out. "H-how did you know?" "Oh come on Y/n ever since we were little I knew you felt something for him but did it take you this long to figure it out?" You tried to hide your blushes again but that didn't work. "I don't know it's just well, recently whenever I'm near him my heart rate gets quicker and quicker and the smallest compliments make me blush, also I just feel safe around him." She gives you a big goofy smile and starts to squeal. "AWWWWWWWWWW THAT IS SOOOOO  CUUUUUTE!!!" You try to shush her before anyone hears. "Don't tell anyone about this especially him!" She nods as her mouth is covered with your hand. "As you remove it from her mouth you look down and start to fidget with your coat. "I doubt he likes me anyway he sees me as a best friend that's it." Winry grips your shoulders tightly and stares right into your eyes. "Don't say that, I'm sure he likes you and I will help you two get together." You nod and you see her face now has a different expression. She removes her hands from your shoulder and looks down with her hair covering her face. "Winry are you alright?" You see tears fall to her feet as she hugs you tightly. "Y/n, you did it didn't you?" You hug her back as tears start to form in your eyes. "Yeah, I'm so sorry." Tears start to flow as your grip tighter. "Why Y/n, why did you do it?" You look at her and take a deep breath. "He was my only family." She wipes the tears from her eyes and smiles. "Well just promise me one thing, no one else fixes your automail except for me." You look at her and smile. "Deal!" As Winry walked out of her room leaving you behind for a little bit and took off the bandage that was wrapped around your head. "I hope you are right about him Winry." You exit the room and make your way to the living room where everyone was. As you enter the living room you see Winry yelling at Edward while he calmly sips on tea. "A little smashed up do you know how long I slaved over this?!" "It's fine it's basically the same thing just in smaller pieces." Right after he said that he was immediately punched and sent flying. "Don't tell me, you a little smashed up too Al?" She said annoyed. All you could do was just laugh at this until you hear a voice called your name. It was Granny Pinako. "Y/n come here and sit next to Edward I need to check on your automail too." You nodded and went to where Edward and Pinako were. "Well Edward not just your arm needs repair your leg needs to be adjusted too." Granny says surprising Winry. "Wow, Ed you have actually grown since last time." That remark from Winry made you laugh a little while Edward was completely furious. "Ok, Y/n let's check your arm, seems both yours and Edwards arms need to be started from scratch." "So that would take about a week." you said a bit worried. She smiled and looked at you straight in the eye. "It'll take three days." As Edward tries on the temporary leg to use for three days Winry calculates how she'll fix two arms within three days. "If I'm starting from scratch with two arms it'll take three all nighters." You look at Winry with a little guilt. "I'm really sorry for the trouble." She smiles "It's ok besides you three want to get to Central as soon as possible right?." You smile and nod. As you see Edward walking out of the house you wonder to where he was going and you decide to follow him. You manage to try and sneak around and follow him until he stopped all of a sudden. "You don't need to be sneaky come on out Y/n" You jumped a little and you were trying to hide your embarrassment but then came out of your hiding. "Where are you going?" You ask. He smiles and continues to walk. "Follow me"
