The Job

When Gemma knocks on the door then enters the house "In the kitchen Gemma" someone yells from the kitchen. We walk in there and see a lady holding a baby about 2 months old, on the way up to the door Gemma told me Abel's story. we picked him up and headed back to TM, then I remembered that I had a meeting with the principle in about an hour "shit, Gemma take me to Opie's house I got to meet the principle in an hour" she looks at me wide eyed "why didn't you tell me" "I forgot, oh jeez I have less than an hour to get ready" I start to freak out. Gemma pulls up behind my truck. I hug her "I'll see you after the meeting at TM" I jump out of the car and run into the house to see Opie watching TV I rush to the guest room to change in to a black pencil skirt and a teal blouse and some black flats and put my hair up in a neat ponytail and put on my glasses. I grab my keys and run back out to grab my purse. "where are you going JoJo" "meeting at the school got to go bye" I run out side and jump in my truck and head towards the elementary school. When I get there I go in and went up to the secretary "um I have a meeting with Mrs. Clark" she looks up at me and gives me a motherly smile. "go on in dearie she's ready for you" "thank you". I go in and Mrs. Clark looks up "Jocelyn Winston?' she ask me "yes that's me" "take a seat." I can tell she's looking at my file, she looks up at me. "why were you on probation at your last teaching job?" "well Mrs. I was on playground duty that day and at my old school we had a special needs class there and some girls were picking on a girl with downs syndrome and I told them to stop picking on her that little girl just stuck her nose up at me and she told me no, so I told her to go sit up against the wall, while I talked to Sammy the girl with down syndrome to get her to stop crying, well it churned out the girl that I sent to the wall was the principles niece, and he believed her more than me since I had tattoos since it was a private Christian school, I had to hide them so that's why I was on probation... does it bother you that I have tattoos" "No dear it doesn't, and on here its says that you were yelling at the girl Chloe and yelled at her to go sit on the wall" "no ma'am I would never yell at a child" "well besides that your file is amazing, so you got the job." "I do?" "yes now I got a question for you, on here it says your mother maidens name is Pency Strait is that correct" oh god not this right now.. "wow that must be awesome" "yea I guess" I really dont get to see my uncle that much any more since he's on tour right now and his team roping thing, but I am close to his son Bubba and Bubbas wife Tamara. "well see you next August Ms. Winston." with that I get up and head back to my truck and head to TM.

I pull up to TM and shut of my truck and jump out and run to the office. I can tell the boys are staring at me since I'm dressed up in a skirt and have a huge smile on my face. I run into the office and see Gemma doing paper work. "so" she ask me "I got it, I got the job!" she gets up and hugs me. "I knew you would get it baby girl." we walk out of the office and all the boys are staring at us "what" I ask them, Chibs speaks up "why di ya come runnin' in yer' lass" "cause I got the teaching job I wanted" "well then lets celebrate" Tig spoke up. We all went into the club house and got a beer. Once I got my beer my phone goes off, I pull it out of my purse and head out side. "hello" I answer it without looking at the caller ID "Where the hell are you if you are not in Nashville Jocelyn Rae." ahh its my over protective cousin bubba. "in California bubba" "why" I go sit at the picnic tables "I got fired at my old job then my cousins wife on my dads side called and she figured something was wrong so I told her she said there was a opening here so here I am in Charming, California." I hear him sigh "Okay as long as your safe, right" "yea Bubba I'm safe" "wait did you say charming." "yea why" "well I think there's a rodeo close to there so maybe we can meat then, then I think later this year dad is doing a concert close to there." "really you and uncle George in the same year, please tell me if your coming up that your wife of yours is coming and little Harvey." "yea yea ill bring squirt and Tamara when I do the rodeo." I hear Harleys pull in I look up and see Opie and Jaxs pull in. "hey bubba I got to go tell Tamara I say hi and give squirt a kiss for me." "okay bye love you" "love you to." I hang up and look up to see Jax and Opie with there arms crossed "Who was that?" they ask at the same time "calm down boys it was just my cousin Bubba asking why I wasn't in Nashville" they seem to calm down after I said that "hey Opie guess what" "what" "I got the job!" He comes over to hug me "good job kid" I give a glare " I'm 2 years younger than you Opie." he just shrugs typical male. I shake my head at them and walk into the club, and walk up to Juice "hey can you look up any places up for sale around here, please" "yea sure hold on" he goes over to his laptop and starts searching "thanks for doing this I suck at technology" "its no big deal" about 10 minutes later he prints something off and hands it to me "thanks Juice" "welcome" I walk back outside since its a nice day for the begging of March, I once again sit at the picnic tables, and look through all the sites till I come to a house with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, perfect "What are you looking at" I look up to see Jax sitting across from me, "looking at houses" "why" I give him a really look. "Cause I dont want to live in Opie's house forever." "find one you like" "yes, want to go with me to look at?" "sure, lets go" he gets and starts to head over to his bike. "Jax" he looks over his shoulder at "yes" "I cant ride your bike" he turns around "and whys that" he ask me, I point down to my knee length pencil skirt. "lets go in your truck then" we get in the truck and I turn it on, the radio starts to play Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood. I start to back up and head out on the street out of the corner of my eye I see him start to reach out to change the station. I slap his hand away and say a quote me and bubba came up with in high school "driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole, so dont even think about it" I say to him while still looking at the road and with a straight face "what are you five" I turn to look at him and stick my tong out at him, and turn to look back at the road "you do relies you just proved my point, JoJo" "shut it Teller" I turn into the driveway of the house and lucky the relator his here. I jump out of the truck and walk up to him with Jax behind me. "I would like to look at the house please" I ask him, he nods his head and we head inside. He shows us a tour of the house and we end up back in the living room "I'll take it." the dude stares at me in shock, then Jax hands him a stack of bills "you heard her" Jax tells him. The guy hands me a set of keys and walks out and takes the sign out of the yard. I turn back to Jax "you know I could of paid for it Jackson Teller" "I know, its just your welcome home gift" "really Jackson" "yes". I just shake my head at him and walk outside with him behind me. "where we going now" "To Opie's so I can change and hook my trailer up and bring it over here." We get in the truck and start to head to Opie's "Jo that song that came on when we were leaving TM, would you ever do that to someone" I look out of the corner of my eye and he looks a little scared, haha wimp "hand me my phone" he hands it to me and I unlock it "Click on the pictures icon and scroll through em' till ya see a truck" I can see him scrolling through all my pictures till he stops and my exboyfriends truck, have you ever seen the video for Before He Cheats let's just say that's what he truck looked like luckily the next day I left town, that's right I found out about the cheating bastard right before I left to here haha asshole. I didn't relies he was looking through my pictures till he stoped at a picture "who's this" I look at the picture and raise a eyebrow at him "you know my cousin Bubba I was talking to earlier, that's his son." He makes a oh sound and turns my phone off as we pull up to Opie's house.

I go into the house and into the guest room and change into jeans a Garth Brooks shirt and my boots. I head back outside with my bag and through it in my back seat and hook the trailer up to my truck and go find Jax in the back with Opie "are you going to help me unpack or just stand here and do nothing" I ask them. Donna and Opie got in a big fight last night so she took the kids and went to her moms. They follow me back to the truck, me and Jax get in while Opie follows us on his Harley. When we get back to the house I back in to where the trailer is facing the house, I jump out and go unlatch the door and pull the ramp down. I pick up a box and start carrying stuff in. When we get done its around 9 at night and I've been up since 4. "alright guys I've been up since for so if you would like please leave or be quite so I can sleep" they look at each other and back at me "do you have any weapons here" Opie ask me I roll my eyes at them I point to a wooden chest in the corner of the room "go look in there and ask me again" they walk over there and open it. "Jesus I am never pissing you off, ever" Jax's says to me and I laugh Opie looks confused "I destroyed my ex's truck cause the bastard cheated on me" Opie looks kinda mad and Jax pulls out my bow case and opens it "how well can you use this Jo" I take the bow out of his hand and an arrow out of the case and take an apple from the kitchen and head out back with Opie and Jax on my heels, I go stand in the middle of the yard and toss the apple in the air then load my bow and aim and hit the apple all in under two minutes. They stare at me and shock "Now ask me that question again" I tell them and walk back into the house. I put my bow back in its case and back in the chest I take my 20 gauge and put it on the hooks above the fire place and take one of my .45 and put it in the draw by the front door and take the other one in my night stand by my bedroom. I grab one of my old quilts and cover all of my knifes and ammo and cleaning gear. I hear the guys behind me and turn around they both give me hugs and say goodbye. I lock up and head to my room I quickly made my bed and changed clothes and fall into bed and fall into the darkness of sleep.
