The hours go by, life stands still, and my minds left wondering if there's any hope for Luke. Never mind that last thought, I honestly do believe he's worth redemption I just have to find it. Deep down in his heart, there's that small boy I once knew that I can only hope will come out.
But then there's Percy, he wants me to get off this ship and go get help for him. I simply can't choose one without having to abandon the other. If I leave this ship I'll probably lose my only chance to get to Luke, leaving Percy waiting for a rescue if Luke doesn't end his life first. But if I do stay Percy's might not have any other way of escaping and Luke well... what if I fail at trying to bring him back.
What about Nico? The son of Hades, Kronos could have him be the one to end the gods. From what Percy's told me the boy hates him, so I'm not hearing about the son of death yet.
I quit thinking and got myself to stand up straight, I walked in the direction of the door and turned the knob, surprisingly it wasn't locked, "that's strange," I muttered to myself. Luke must have a plan why else would he leave the door unlocked for me to just roam around.
I walked into the hall tiptoeing my way around the place, I heard chuckling voices coming towards me as I darted to the wall trying to sink into it, "is it true that Kronos is able to take over Luke's body?" A ruff voice grunted,
"Apparently yes," the other guy shrugged as they walked right past, their backs facing her. "But master Luke and Kronos discovered a new plan. Another body, more powerful for Kronos to take over."
Annabeth gulped, Luke was going to give up everything even his own soul for Kronos- Kronos is deceiving him. She snuck into the direction the half-bloods came from-
"Well, well" a voice hummed in front of me, a woman with dark skin and black silky hair grinned to her satisfaction. She reminded me of one of those perfect slim models on a fashion runway. "I honestly don't see why Luke wants you," she sneered folding her arms. So Luke does what something from me that lying backstabbing- "I was having fun with him you know." Really? I didn't know! I rolled my eyes. I thought she was going to turn red but really she turned to a pale beast as her teeth the grew long and sharp, she showed her real form with her goat and metal leg. " your an Empousa" I quickly gasped as she bared her claws to my neck.
"Kelli!" Luke thundered behind her in a threatening matter. The empousa turned back into her beauty form of lies to him.
"What fun will she be to you?" She pouted
"Don't you have something to do?" He pointed her into a direction to get lost. She walked of murmuring about how he never makes time for them two anymore, what the hell does she know about him anyway!
"I Didn't think you'd come out" he smiled a little,
"What do you want from me, Luke?" He walked up to me for a second his expression was miffed, probably towards Kelli for spilling out unneeded chalk talk."Come with me" he held out his hand, "I'll explain everything." At first, I hesitated, his voice was smooth and calm just like he'd talk to me whenever I was down.
I took his hand it was smooth and ruff at the same time. I felt safe with him, like old times.
We walked across the halls shoulder by shoulder, there were times when we walked past some monsters and that had me grip onto Luke's hand a little harder.
There was a hellhound pacing at a door breathing heavily, it paused in its spot at the sight of Luke, "move along now" he ordered sternly.
The double silver door widely opened as he walked us both in. There was a dark oak table large enough to fit 12 chairs with enough arm space. It reminded me of the story Arthur and the round table. The table had carvings of events of the titan's age, the walls were decorated in golden silk and iron sculpted statues shaped as the Titans, Luke and Kronos.
I let go of his hand "What is this?" I amused tracing the carvings. Luke watched my expression I bet he knew I would admire it, worship Kronos or not this is exquisite.
"This is just a draft," he gleamed.
I looked up noticing one of the statues ... was me?
"Is that-" I pointed to the sculpture confused but also amazed.
"Indeed it is" he smiled. My heart skipped a beat as I stared at it endlessly, "sit" Luke instructed pulling out a chair that was in front of 'my' statue.
"I don't understand" I shuddered to look at the statues, Luke sat beside me right in front of his statue and on his other side was the biggest statue with the most attention Kronos, he wasn't actually there, thank the gods for that but the room was cold and it still felt like his eyes were prying on us.
"The attack you saw I unleashed onto the camp wasn't the true attack, it was a fib," he glanced at me, "it was a distraction to get you... we also used the opportunity so Chiron would believe that was the battle."
"You mean it's not!-" I said louder then I intended, he stayed quiet his icy blue eyes straining onto me. I can't believe it, it was all just a trick- "wait what do you mean to get me?"
"I told you I didn't want you to die, I asked Kronos if I could retrieve you while I took a few men and monsters to make the half blood believe this was Krono's big attack. " he sighed "although I honestly hoped the demigods would actually fight, they were just coward," he snarled at the campers, the very people we shared cabins with once.
My blood boiled, I don't know how but I got a perfect angle to slap Luke and his perfect face. My hand whooshed to his cheekbone and
Slap!
His eyes turned cruel towards me "you shouldn't have done that" he growled, he stood up from his chair and raised his voice "bring him in!" I shuddered in my seat, as the two large doors swung open with Kelli and two dracaena's gripping onto "Percy" I cried out.
