"Annie?"

The bed I was hiding under had the blanket sprawled half off the bed. The Athena kids wake up and start their day by making their beds, this bed that belonged to a Hermes kid was like he sprinted out of bed with no care.

"Come on, Chris said he's given up. You can come out now."

Of course I knew that Luke knew where I was. I was changing hiding spots all over the camp. I wasn't stealthy or swift like a Hermes kid- well not yet anyway- it's why I knew Luke spotted me every time while he easily hid in clear sight.

"Annie."
Looking back I didn't realise how much that nickname felt nice to hear. It was his name, his little nickname he one day randomly started sayings and it stuck. It was his secret, his word, it sounded like dirt from anyone elses mouth. And then because of him it then sounded like an insult.
A name chosen by a traitor is an insult.

From where Thalia was sitting the window rolled down and she poked her head out looking out to the sun. "We're almost there, they'll meet us at dark." the wind hit me in the face as well as the car continued to speed on bringing me back into focus.

A cold ick crawled up my spine, I found myself avoiding to look at Luke. He once was desperate for Thalia to be on his side, used me as a captive. He's smart, he's cunning. All the times I've blinked and he's already thought of multiple schemes. If this was another scheme, I need to get Thalia away before anything goes down.

Trees were meeting my windows once again, and Luke pulled a break on the car. I was so sure the three of us were alone, but as Thalia and Luke got out the car there was determinations in their character, their movements already ready to fight.

The sun was setting to almost dark, but I could still look down at the large valley that we stood above.

The battle field.

Luke turned around first to face the trees, "they're here,"

I turned around quickly, for a moment thinking he meant monsters. The faces of wolves appeared first, and then the glimmer of hunters coats shined in the darkness.

"Thank you for arriving, " Thalia spoke true and clear, "now prepare."
